Postpartum Cramping

Worse with each subsequent baby is right! I am having some serious "afterpains" and wanted to check in here and see what everyone else is doing for them.

I've tried Ibuprofen and I couldn't tell if it helped. I have a tincture called Afterease that does help a little bit. I've also thought about taking calcium because we have clients take it for muscle cramps and I'm thinking it might help.

Calcium and magnesium may help. I had virtually no cramping after babies four and five, but I'm having some doozies this time. I asked for a Percocet prescription, but I'm trying to take them sparingly.

They have been way worse each time for me too (which I know is an odd thing to complain:)  Anyway- On the main mothering page there was an article on Mothering the Mother and I think it recommended Calcium and Magnesium right away- I am planning on taking a dose of sea minerals and if I get to the health food store I will get some liquid calcium- but if I don't I will just do pill form I guess.  Otherwise Motrin helps a bit and Motherwort tincture is supposed to help but I never noticed much difference with the motherwort.
