The ONE Thread June 3 - 10 - Page 3

Thanks. I went to Dollar Tree and got a few and took one. At first I thought it was positive but then I saw on the box that the line had to be as dark or darker than the control line. Does that mean I should have and LH surge soon or is a neg a neg?

I also took a preg test just to make sure and it was neg as well.

Ok. I just want to say that I have had 2 capt and cokes so if I have a lot of typos...that is why. But, anyway, thses drinks 'motivated' me to take another OPK...you know, just for fun....and it is LIGHTER than the one I took at 3 this afternoon. Does that mean I probably already O'd? I was expecting to O between Friday and yesterday at the latest I guess, but never really got any CM, only a little (emphasis on little) bit watery. *little bit*. We did bd a good amount. I think Thur, Sat, and Sun. The plan was for us to get drunk and fool around tonite but now I'm kind of not in the mood after seeing the lighter OPK.

Any thoughts?

My understanding is that we have a little LH in our system at all time, but when we have the surge within 24 to 32 hours we should ovulate, the only way to really tell is, if after you get a positive surge you have an elevated bbt for three days then it is pretty positive you have ovulated. Unfortunately it is always a mix of bbt, cm, and testing that can indicate whether you have ovulated. Once you have ovulated, within a few days your cm should become pretty dry. I say just go ahead full around you never know. Better to give your self a chance then none at all, right?! I so understand, with my positive last night and negative today, I am bummed, but I realized that I had better just keep a positive attitude. The more stress I feel the more I can shift my body to abnormal. So let the cap n coke do it's job, relax and have a good time. Sending baby making vibes your way!! dust.gif

I am going to see if my temp goes up in the next couple of days to confirm but it may have been a really quick LH surge or maybe a false positive....anyway we are BDing and crossing our fingers. I would check the internet I got like 50 OPK and 20 pregnancy test for 17 America Dollars, so it was pretty cheap. I would suggest them, Hope this helps shy.gif

From what I've read, it's quite normal for the LH surge before O to be quite short (12 hours or less) so you'd expect to only get one positive followed by a negative.  It's short enough that women often miss if if they aren't doing OPKs often enough.  Sounds like you caught the surge and everything's just fine - don't worry!

This may help:  http://www.fertilityfriend.com/Faqs/Ovulation-Prediction-Kits--OPKs--.html

Honestly I've read a lot more frustration than benefit from the OPKs - faulty test strips, missed surges, surges with no Ov (you can have an LH surge and then not Ov) and that made me want to steer clear of them.  But, I had pretty regular cycles.  For someone with irregular cycles I think they could be beneficial, but they don't work well for everyone that's for sure.  Different brands/systems work well for different women too.  Some love the internet cheapies, others prefer the digital since there's no misreading a happy face.

You ovulate 2-3 days after your surge is detected on an OPK, not the same day. I personally wouldn't read too much into them because they are not meant to be a guideline, just an additional tool to add to temping.

Thank you ladies! When I woke up this morning, my bbt was up quite a bit so if I have two more high bbt that will confirm my ovulation. Which is great because now I have a good, normal cycle to have as a baseline. Or I won't need to worry about it because I will be pregnant, which would be pretty awesome.

How are you feeling SophieAnn?

Again thanks ladies I cannot stress how nice it has been to have more then just me to bounce ideas off of and to have support kiss.gif

Glad to hear your temp is up - sounds like you have ovulated!

I'm feeling pretty good, thanks.  I've had some very mild nausea but mainly I just feel like I have a bit of a tummy ache all the time (and definitely bloated).  My boobs also feel bigger/heavier/firmer.

Congrats SophieAnn!

delilahbeau - I could have almost written your last few posts myself! Also trying OPKs to help figure out my yo-yoing cycles and after two trips to the $1 store to pick up more was feeling disheartened. Finally got my first positive OPK today though, yay!

I've been totally absent for a few months, while we were taking a break from actively trying. Its been a long year of TTC. And everyone says when you relax it happens!

BFP!!!!! (10 dpo and not too faint)

So happy to get this stage; nervous b/c I have a history of miscarriages.

Good luck to all! Hope for more February babies!

Thanks for the responses ladies and congrats Angierae!

Unfortunately I think I am out for this cycle. My cervix went lower today and I had a good amount of creamy CM. I am glad that I at least know where I am. I am taking the fact that I had no EWCM as a sign that my body did not want to get pregnant this time. We didn't end up DTD lastnite. I got too caught up in searching OPK threads and DH didn't get home from his meeting until 11 and then he was tired.

Here's hoping that my AF and next cycle go smoothly. fingersx.gif

Congratulations Angierae!

Please move me to "waiting to know."

I'm CD5 and had just a spot of blood today.  Hoping it's implantation bleeding!  Maybe I'm just crazy.

Congrats! That's so exciting!

AFM- still in the TWW. 11dpo with sore boobs, nausea and a wicked spicy food craving. BFN this morning and I did have some light spotting today (a bit mid-day but gone with wiping and the same again this evening after DH and I DTD). spotting was light light pink with a lot of CM, not brown or red. I've been researching the heck out of this and it looks like a lot of people with BFN and spotting at 11DPO still get BFPs at 13/14 DPO so I'm prepared for AF to show up but until she does, I'm hopeful!

Good luck library girl!

Are sore boobs a PMS sign too? I can't remember for some reason. I started having them this morning but I am pretty sure I am out because of the creamy CM.

I'm out....:( :( :( AF showed up this morning. Not sure where the sore boobs or spicy food craving came from. I get a little sore with pms but never like that before.

Oh well, it gives me time to get the pre-conception physical I didn't have time for before the wedding. Which is probably good. I need to have an A1C done (I have diabetes) and a pap smear and stuff.

So now I'm waiting to O.

It's def reassuring to get "checked out" beforehand, I had bloodwork and an ultrasound done also, to rule out any "issues".

I also am having sore breasts, creamy CM and spicy food cravings (which i hate!)... so I will probably be right behind you smile.gif

Thread Starter

Hey ladies, sorry I haven't got the new thread up yet - I'm really overwhelmed with work at the moment. So, I'm actually going to put it out there and see if anyone else would be interested in becoming the threadkeeper? I feel awful when I fall behind here and work is definitely not going to slow down anytime soon so I think it makes sense to pass it on to someone who can look after it better than I can at the moment!

If you're interested, please let me know and I'll pm you the details. If it's ok with you all, I'll let this thread carry on and start up a new one on Sunday - if there's no takers that is! I'll still stick around  either way :)

Tomorrow is my test day... temp is still really high (yeah, I charted ....grrrrr!) And I'm a bit nervous...

Especially since FF says I'm triphasic.

Is this the current thread? This seems active, but the dates are wrong, but it's four days past the 10th!

My crosshair are up, so please move me to "Waiting to Know". Looks like I'm dpo3. I'm not going to have really high hopes this go-around. Our bd'ing attempts were decent, but not ideal. We'll see. I'm hoping that I can chart a weight loss at the end of this month even if I get a bfn. Will get something for my efforts either way.
