Good thing I just ate, or replying to this question would make me hungry! My usual TJ's list includes:
Dried mangos (the kind that is unsulfered.)
Nuts/seeds
Coconut milk (half the price of even the Asian market...1/4 of what I'd pay here!)
Organic whole wheat pasta
Curry sauces
Root veggie chips
Chocolate covered pretzels
Chocolate
Uncured bacon
Goat Gouda
Wine (when I'm not preggo)

But I usually end up leaving with other stuff in my cart, too. I can't get frozen stuff or much refridgerated because of the 2.5+ hour drive home, or I'd probably blow my entire monthly grocery budget there!

I have never even been to Trader Joe's (or Whole Foods, actually!) -- my town doesn't have one, and we make the trip so rarely to the cities (a little over 2 hours away) that would have them that I don't want to do grocery shopping while there. Everybody talks about it like it's the greatest thing ever, though -- maybe I should make the effort next time I'm in the big city smile.gif

How did you meet Jeff?
Are you going on vacation this summer? If money were no object, where would you most like to go on vacation (and would you take your daughter with you)?

Did you grow up with brothers or sisters?

Since your DH has Chinese ancestry, have you visited China? Would you like to go?

What is your most cherished memory?

I don't love Whole Foods (too pricey), but you're missing out on Trader Joes!

Jeff and I started a new job on the same day and were in a training class together for six weeks. He tried to get me to date him for two years before I said yes. I had a rule against dating guys I worked with, but after he got transferred to a different department/location at the company, I finally gave in. Two months later, he drug me into a jewelry store and asked me what kind of engagement ring I wanted....I was shocked and elated! Then he made me wait two more oaths before he actually proposed.

We are leaving tomorrow on a road trip to Southern California! If money were no object, well, I guess I have to give the easy answer and say I'd love to go on a trip around the world. There are so many place that I'd like to see. More of Europe (I've been to Spain), Asia, the South Pacific, and DD really wants to go to Africa to see the animals. I would bring DD, and at least one of my sisters so that they could watch her when Jeff and I want to have grown-up time!

I have two you ger sisters, three and nine years younger than me. No broths, shaving a boy is going to be a whole new experience for me.

Neither DH or I have ever been to China. There was two a few years back about organizing a family trip, including a stop in the village that DH's grandma grew up in, but a lot has changed since then...maybe in a few years. I'd like to go when both kids are old enough to understand their ties to what they will see.

My most cherished memory is the birth of DD. specifically, when I pulled her up through the water and saw her for the first time. She was (and is) so beautiful, and I remember thinking how much she looked like her daddy. I felt so empowered by her birth; my mom had 3 scheduled c-sections and never went into labor, so I didnt have childhood birth stories and going into the birth I felt like I was exploring somewhat uncharted territory (for my family, at least).

What kind of in-utero 'personality' would you say your baby has? Anything he seems to like/dislike? When does he tend to rest/be active?

What excites you most about going from a family of three to one of four? What makes you nervous?

The road trip sounds exciting--have fun!! :)

Baby boy is definitely "quieter" overall than DD was. He usually moves a lot when I first wake up in the morning, not just kicks but rolls or something - big movements. DD would kick all day long, but this little guy seems to rest more...fingers crossed for a good sleeper? Of course, it could be that the difference in my daily routine is messing with how much I notice the movement. I was sitting at a desk all day then, but now I'm chasing DD around, so maybe I'm only noticing his kicks when I get a moment to sit still.

I'm most excited to see the relationship between DD and the baby. She is SO excited to big a big sister, and ive been informed several times that the babyin my belly is not my baby, he's hers. She did say that the baby in her belly is mine, though, and wants me to say hi to "him" all the time. I'm second most excited to see DH as a father to a son.

I'm most nervous about the first couple of months after baby is born. DH has five really intense weeks of school starting September 24, and while we have put the request for help out to family members, we only have a firm commitment for one week of help, so it's mostly going to be all on me. I'm worried about the transition to 'big sister' mostly on my own.

Oh, fun! What's in SoCal? Family? Or just fun? smile.gif (Also -- will you be checking Mothering or will your vacation be screen-free? -- I guess we'll see!)

I really, really pushed for an Alaska cruise this summer (whales! Northern lights! glaciers! they stop in Canada and I've never even been to Canada! Plus the food!). It would have been a bit of a stretch, but we could afford it. Besides not being able to convince DH to take the time off work, though, my mom is afraid to fly -- and there's no way I would leave DD for a week, but having my mom go to help seemed like the perfect plan!

Oh, wow -- what for? That was back when they were quite a bit rarer than they are today, right?

How did your family feel about your decision to homebirth/waterbirth?
