Your recent reads, thumbs up or down?

I am currently reading Factory Girls, a very interesting book written by a Chinese American journalist about the lives of Chinese factory girls. While the writing felt somewhat disjointed at times and she delves a little too much into her family history, I am finding the perspective on the girls unique and utterly fascinating. 

What are you reading these days?  What are you getting out of your books?

I will throw in my answer while I move it. :)  I just finished book 2 of the Game Of  Thrones series....I paused. Feeling kind of meh about the whole thing.

Also read the latest Sookie Stackhouse and it was good but felt like it ended mid scene.

Waiting on several books to come out.

Wow, I had no idea this sub-forum even existed! Cool. Never heard of the Game of Thrones series. Curious now, will look it up.

It is sword and horse fantasy (mild fantasy so far...), by George R.R. Martin.  I had hear of it, but hadn't picked it up until people started talking about the TV show. LOL 

I'm looking for something else to read right now, but at 30 weeks pregnant am finding that it needs to be very entertaining and not too deep. LOL
