Pump in style vs. lactina

I am going to be pumping quite a bit with this baby as I work full-time 12 hour shifts.  Would it be better to get the Lactina over the Pump In Style?  I used the Lactina with my first child and it worked great, I never tried the PIS.  I like that the PIS comes in a backpack or a tote bag.  It will look a lot nicer carrying it to work.  LOL

Bumping up to see if anyone has anything to share. Also, check out our Reviews section. thumb.gif

I exclusively pump and I've killed one PIS already. The first one had been used some before I started exclusively pumping but 7-10 times/24 hr period for 10 months was just too much for the PIS. If I could go back and do it again, knowing that I would be pumping for the long haul, I'd get a Lactina.

I'd skip Medela all together and get a Hygeia Enjoye or an Ameda Purely Yours. Those are both closed systems and don't harbor bacteria or mold. I EP'd for three months and then pumped while at work for a year after. I went through three Medela Pumps and finally found the Hygeia and it was so much better.

I used the PIS for a bit, but the Symphony I rented from the hospital was infinitely better. If you're going to be pumping a lot and for a long time, I'd suggest that. It took me half the time to get the same amount with the Symphony versus PIS. My hospital rented them for $50 a month. Often insurance will cover it, too.
