pain at hte back of my head

When i turn my head i feel this locking feeling at the lower back of my head,it hurts,recently it has been hapenning a bit often.It hurts, and my head feels a bit crampy. I really would like to get a feedback on this, if anyone has ever experienced this

Does it kind of snap, sort of like a rubberband being stretched, and then suddenly springing back?  I had something similar.  It was something to do with the tendons and ligaments being off in my neck.  I finally went to a chiropractor, and it seemed to take care of it.   I'd definately get it checked out though.
