Very!  This coming week is our peak week of the year, and it should be smooth sailing and eventually dwindle down after that.  I'm finally only scheduled 40 hours per week- I was scheduled overtime before that!  Not fun!

Trying to now get my head in the game and focus on baby.. I feel like I'm so unprepared- we don't have a name, and the only baby "things" we have are a handful of t-shirts and a few diapers.

Yes... I've already posted here, but somehow hitting 30 weeks is an insane milestone! What?! How did 3/4s of this pregnancy fly by already?! Something about being able to say tomorrow that my EDD is 9w6d away seems quite surreal and somewhat terrifying wink1.gif But, I try to live with the assumption that I'll go to 41 weeks (because all my babies have been born at 41+ weeks... the first three with inductions, dd4 came in her own time).... but the thought of not late is somewhat of a thrilling rush wink1.gif But not one I want to experience toooooo early because at 37w3d I'll be in a town 5 hours to the south as dh is ordained a deacon.... not really prime time for a baby wink1.gif

I am pleased though that this baby is decidedly head down smile.gif He/she gets hiccups quite often and the gentle, rhythmic taps are always down low and lately have been right around my pubic bone. I know it doesn't mean he or she will stay there, but for now I'll relax about it.

The name game is one thing completely up in the air. I think I need to generate a list on paper and see if by reading them aloud one or two will jump out at me. Worth a shot, anyway.

Luckily dd4 has been sleeping better lately. She's been my most challenging sleeper thus far (for the first 2+ years I had to lay beside her for every nap and all of the night). She has her own bed now (a bottom bunk) and has been sleeping some longish stretches on her own in there. She still nurses and I lay beside her and nurse her to sleep every night... and one night she slept seven hours straight!!! The first and only time in her life she's done that!! It was nice to maybe see some glimpses of light at the end of the tunnel wink1.gif

I have loads of baby shirts and keep making more, but for some reason can't bring myself to make pants!! But I'm thinking this baby might need some pants too so I need to get on that! (I'll have to post the six most recent shirts in the Handmade thread because I'm quite pleased with how they turned out!).

Probably enough rambling (typing on my phone as dd4 nurses/naps)... just the thought of 30 weeks is a pretty big milestone and exciting!

I know what you mean about being reassured by the low-down hiccups!

My #1 boy name WAS Jude, but in the last 3 weeks there have been 3 baby boys born named Jude in my town (3 that I have heard about! who knows how many mroe!) . I don't want this baby to be Jude R. all through school! I'm still thinking that this baby is a girl, so hopefully it won't matter...

I feel babygirls hiccups down low...about 2 inches below my belly button. I have the hardest time figuring out the way she's positioned. Seems like she either has her head left, right or middle but always up. She's never down.I got some good movement above my belly button earlier and I thought maybe she turned head down but no...I guess it was her knees and elbows again. Then earlier this morning I got some good bladder and cervix kicks and a foot in my pelvis, so I guess she was transverse, with arms/legs hanging down cause I felt the head over to the left. She's definitely busy in there, flipping around.

When I feel hiccups down low I mean I feel them waaaaay down by my public bone. I feel kicks mostly by my belly button or a few inches above for the most part. Fingers crossed s/he stays like that!

I guess I hit third trimester on Wednesday without noticing- I was thinking 30 weeks would be third trimester! With my first baby at 37.5 weeks, and my second at 42w1d, I am looking at a solid 5 week 'healthy window' for baby to arrive.

I guess I can finally check in here smile.gif 28 weeks and 4 days in is probably pretty safely in the third trimester! I got this screen when I checked my pregnancy calendar thingy today:
415
80 days til due date sounds waaaay too soon -- like, don't I have all this time left to get ready?

A few random third trimester notes:
  • I still feel good! As in, really great smile.gif
  • I have had just a touch of heartburn twice, which I've solved by getting up at night to eat a bowl of rice crispies and whole milk
  • I still haven't broken out the pregnancy pillow (snoogle) yet -- I'm sure DH and our dog are grateful -- it takes up a ton of room in the bed
  • I've gained 21 pounds so far
  • I'm well on my way to just wearing out my maternity swimsuit -- it's already pretty faded
  • I have had just a little pregnancy insomnia -- though what I count as insomnia now is probably pretty tame -- it's downright distressing to me to be up at 1am! Ah, old age.
  • I feel nice vigorous movement every day -- nothing unpleasant yet, but it's definitely very noticeable. Baby seems to be really active around midnight.
  • I keep having moments when I think "What have we done?" -- I'm still pretty unsure how things are going to go adding a new baby into the mix
  • Famous last words: Surely this baby will sleep better than the last one -- he couldn't be worse, right?

28 weeks + 5 days here. Does that make sense if i am due on Sept 22nd?

Yep Mittens, that makes sense. My EDD is Sept 19 and I'm 29weeks 1 day so you'd be three days behind that.

i guess it's time I chimed in. i've been lurking, but maybe in denial.  oh well.

jumping in with both feet now.

I was wondering what the bleep am i thinking, having another kid?  the one we have is great!  we're in a groove, why disrupt it?

But, we're all still SO excited.  Big brother especially!

What, if anything, have any mamas been doing to prepare older sibs for baby's birth?

We started watching a few youtube vids about home waterbirths, but not exactly what I wanted to show him.  I didn't have time to preview anything.  i just figured it was about time to start, you know?

It didn't scare him or scar him.  He thought it was COOOL!

Oh, I guess I also hadn't checked in?  My mind is like a sieve these days.  Nothing sticks!  I'll be 29 weeks on Sunday.  Feeling great for the most part!  People keep telling me that I look tiny.  I don't mind the size comments but I certainly don't feel "tiny."  Sheesh.

Katt, I keep wondering the same thing.  I hate to admit that I think about this A LOT.  I feel like I am rolling the dice.  My little guy is just perfect.  Well, to me anyway winky.gif.  I am panicking about a second right now but I kinda had the same feelings about going from 0 to 1 so I just have to believe it will be just as wonderful again!

Thanks Carlin!

29 weeks today :) I can't believe it... and yet, at the same time I can. I'm uncomfortable and annoyed already by the "you must be having that baby any day now!!" comments. Oh well, I should get used to it, considering that this is very unlikely to be our last baby lol.

Baby is head down from what I can tell. The hiccups are a good indicator for me; they feel like a pulse in a very awkward place ;) I think he's posterior/left occiput posterior, which is okay but not great. I hope I can get him to a slightly better position over the next month or so :)

Lots of happy thoughts for all of you ladies! We're in the home stretch!
