How soon can one find out the baby's gender? « Back to Group Discussions

I heard that some were able to know at 16 weeks. Experienced mama's is that true? I am going for an ultra sound at 16w3d wonder if the ultrasound tech would be able to  tell me. I can hardly wait to know!!! I am so excite to  to start thinking of a name, and buying some cute baby clothes!!! Not decorating a nursery as we will be moving in a year. Is that bad?

In my last pregnancy, I had an ultrasound around 15 weeks (this was a 3D ultrasound, as I recall, for nuchal trans. testing), and they told me they were 80% certain it was a boy. I took it with a grain of salt, because it was so early, but they were right!
