Ability to prevent threads from certain forums from appearing when you use the "New Posts" function?

I'd love it if we could turn off forums or threads that we don't want to see.  Sort of like the hide story function on Facebook.  Sometimes I come across a particular thread that is triggering for me, and I'd love to have the ability to keep myself from seeing it.

Currently it is not an available function but it has been requested. If it is developed we'll announce it in the Administrative News & Software Release Information thread :)
