I count cleaning as a workout! I only have one little one and as soon as I start to do anything he is right in the way, unless I want him to help me or do a craft project with me, then I can't find him anywhere! Does anyone else have friends or family who feel the need to not let them do anything? I spent the day with some friends selling stuff at a flea market today and they wouldn't let me pick anything up, move anything, bend over, stand for more than 2 minutes. It was driving me crazy! I picked up one of my friends kids, she probably is close to 50 pounds and they flipped out and started yelling at me. I haul all my own hay and animal feed (DH does help but I am still doing it too!) And carry my own almost 40 pound kid around without issues but they just don't get that. On Thursday my husbands grandma told me my sewing machine was to heavy for me to be lifting. I tell them I'm not handicap, I'm pregnant I will continue to do what I want as long as I don't strain or feel pain in doing so. I don't think I'm going to be 9 months along and picking up 75 pound bales of hay, but I don't like people doing everything for me either. Anyway, sorry for the rant but as all of us are trying to stay active, is anyone else getting this from people?

That would be frustrating! I haven't had that too much, but I feel like my pregnancy hasn't really sunk in for DH yet! :) I feel like I'm maybe just starting to come out of my first trimester fatigue and nauseousness, (I'm 11.5 weeks) and hope to get out for a bike ride tonight.

I have a friend like that. :)  She's cute.  She gets on my case every time I pick anything up like a little mother hen.  I'm not broken, people, just pregnant!

Got my walk into today during DDs nap, woot! I'm starting prenatal yoga tomorrow evening too, I'm so excited!

I finally got out for a bike ride last night. It felt SO good to move (and I didn't get sick and I did the full route without a problem)!! I start pre-natal yoga tonight and am looking forward to stretching this body out.

I need to get on the yoga too. My body is so tight! It's the body of a woman who just spent the last year nursing and contorting into terrible positions in order to trick her needy baby to sleep. Precious little self care. This level of inflexibility will not do for birth.

Yoga was intense!! Or I'm just a weakling....either way, I'm so excited to go back! Going to an actual class was so much better than just doing a DVD, though it does make me want to bust out the Shiva Rea DVD for the days between classes. Yay for motivation!

Just got back from another camping trip.  We hiked 4 miles yesterday and whew, I'm definitely feeling it!

We've had 4 different sets of guests staying with us in the last week and a half. Whew. That meant lots of walking and general business every single day.

Our last guest leaves today and I plan on taking it easy (aside from my normal daily required walking). We leave Friday for a 3 day beach trip with my sister and BIL.

I'm haven't really started doing any deliberate exercise since I've started feeling better, but I'm still getting at least a couple of miles of walking in every day.

Yoga again today! And a decision...NO MORE DESSERT. Actually I decided yesterday, then forgot and ate the last gluten free brownie at breakfast....what a goober. So really, no more dessert except birthdays (one time per month funnily enough!). I can do it! Or rather, I need to do it for my baby and my body, because I want a healthy and smooth home birth.

Yoga again Wednesday, and I need some extra working out beside that too. More walking!

I need to join this!  I took it wayyy too slow for the first trimester--running after my almost-two-year-old was all I felt like I could handle.  But now I am feeling (slightly) more energetic and need to get in walks and yoga.

Clarasmama, good for you for taking prenatal yoga classes!  I loved them last time, but they stopped offering them when I was almost to the end of my pregnancy due to lack of interest.  I haven't found another place in my (admittedly lame in this way) area yet.

Yesterday we took a walk despite the heat and I broke out my new anne getty prenatal yoga dvd.  It was...an interesting experience trying to do the movements with a toddler on my lap, a dog in my face, and a cat trying to stir up trouble however she could.  redface.gif

The dogs are the most annoying part of trying to do yoga at home! I have to shoo them outside so they'll stay out of my quiet space! Actually going to a class has been wonderful though, because I actually get it done and I have some me time out of the house too smile.gif

Walked with a friend today, pushed DD in the jogging stroller. I still wear her in the ring sling (she's 28 pounds now) for quick trips, but it's too tiring to wear her for longer walks now! We walked for about 45 minutes al through a hilly neighborhood, it was fun! And I'm feeling like I'll be so sore tomorrow already, hopefully I'll be able to go to prenatal yoga tomorrow afternoon to stretch out!

Anyone else do any fun exercise this weekend?

I just wore my 13mo the other day for the first time in a few weeks and....no. Sounds like a great walk!

So my "work outs" have been chasing 2 small children and packing and schlepping large heavy boxes. We're getting the house ready for market and will begin looking at new houses in the next 2 weeks. Oh yes, I lift my children as weights (DS2 is probably like 28 lb and DS1 is 34 lbs). I put on a ton of weight this month - but that's what I do. early on I pack it on, then it eases up.

Speaking of annoying things: I was dragging around large boxes (like up to my hips and I'm 5'6") that were full around the bottom floor of the house. DH goes to move them a few days later (to store them until the move) and he's like, "How did you move these!? They are heavy! (he's super strong as well)." he then went on the say, "did you forget you were pregnant? You trying to have that baby already!?" It was all I could do to not slap his charming face in!!!

I know what my body can handle very much. I carry 4 gallons of raw milk with eggs and hot dogs and a chicken every week, what is the big deal? I used my legs mostly! Drives me nuts when I am so strong.

Want to start doing some yoga again though. I am way out of practice with it.

Packing, cleaning and hauling count as work outs right? Oh yes, with periodic games of chase

You go mama! Love your workout! In fact I can totally relate!

My activities are also chasing/carrying around my  5 kiddos under 10rs old. (mostly the 20 months old though) and they still get away from me.irked.gif

I also truck around gallons of raw milk, have to get up at the butt-crackmoon.gif of dawn to milk our cows.  Let me tell you carrying that bucket in the house ain't easy!

Told my hubby I'll need to get a garden cart soon.  Also that I'm not going to be able to bend over with a big belly so he'll have to take over milking when I get ginormous.

(all my babes grow straight out. I swear I look like I'm growing a torpedo...)

I know I'll need to start taking it easy before too long but I haven't added anything new so I know my body is used to this daily workout and that it's up for the job.thumb.gif

We totally know what our bodies can handle! Katri'smama you'll love that DS1 the other day was asking for a baby cow at the new house! luxlove.gif

Oh yeah! Who doesn't want babies?!!!  It's my kiddos' job to feed the calf (s) and boy they never get tired of it!!

So sorry we appear to have totally run off track here on this thread....

Ummm, today I defrosted my freezers which included removing everything, thawing out the ice chunks then filling it back up.

Does that count as being active?! shy.gif
