Cravings~

Thread Starter

I normally have a HUGE sweet tooth. So far with this pregnancy, I've been wanting red meat, milk, cheese, eggs, salad, and all things savory. I can't really call them cravings- I'm nauseous most of the day, and when I'm not nauseous I'm STARVING. But I did make the husband pick me up a cheeseburger from the local grassfed establishment, which is pretty uncharacteristic of me.

This is hard for me because I'm almost always hungry these days at the same time that I'm nauseous. I feel like I'm eating us out of house and home! (But haven't gained a pound.) It's weird.

Anyone else's eating habits shift yet?

I'm craving raw milk like crazy. But most of the time I just don't feel like eating but drinking milk is fine, so I've been doing that. I had coconut flour pancakes this morning, could barely eat any (I ate like 3-4, and my 18month old ate about 6 of them...for comparison). In my previous pregnancies I've always craved sweets as well...brownies with #5 and cookies with #6....but about 3 months ago we did a pretty agressive diet change that helped get our gut flora back into balance and we haven't had any grains or sugar (other than honey) for the past 6 months, so I think my gut is better balanced now.

my eating habits have changed dramatically a couple times already and i'm not even 6 weeks..  i haven't really been craving anything yet, more like i don't want anything .. i'm starving all the time, and now in the past few days i'm feeling really sick pretty much all day..  tomato sauce sounds kind of good, but that is about it.

I've been going through the "nothing sounds tasty" phase and just making myself eat whatever I cook for my family. Lunches for me have been berry smoothies with rice protein powder and I can always get those down and they always sound good.

Today was the first time I actually felt a craving... For sour patch kids gummy candy. So bad!! I never buy that kind of stuff and it's never in my house but my brother had some at his house while we were visiting today.

I really want to get off of refined grains and sugar. Gotta look in to the best way of doing that... Cold turkey? Wean off slowly?

I clicked on this thread bc it's 10 am and I am sitting down right now to a plate of sliced up jumbo beef hotdog (all natural kind, no nitrates, no fillers, no MSG) and dipping aforementioned hotdog slice by slice into artichoke antipasto spread topped w kimchee and a dash of Dijon. I am chomping on a trader Joe's dill pickle as well. Did I mention I fried up this plate o hot doggity goodness in a thick pat of grassfed butter? Oh dear...If I didn't know I was pregnant before this would cinch it LOL!
Bon appetit mamas!

I just walked home from work and the whole time I was thinking about fish and chips with tartar sauce. This needs to happen.

i normally have a HUGE sweet tooth and it's completely disappeared! my S.O. has actually said that it's freaking him out because he knows how much i loved my sweets.

no real cravings, in fact nothing sounds good to eat ever. once i start eating, most stuff tastes good and i'm glad i'm eating but i can't ever figure out anything i'd want to eat. except two days last week i really wanted soft pretzels.

been having fruit + spinach + yogurt smoothies almost every morning and been also eating a lot of soups. meh. i'm usually WAY into food so not wanting anything ever is so weird for me.

I am also in the "nothing sounds good" phase. And then I won't eat... and then I'll feel nauseous!  I usually don't have a sweet tooth at all and the only thing I've been craving is sweet stuff which is very like how I was my other pregnancies. The last month with DS1 I couldn't get enough of pistachio muffins and I think ate like three a day. Though in the first tri when my sweet tooth is sated I end up feeling crummy because my blood sugar goes crazy which triggers my MS. Can't win. Although the other night I was craving this very unsweet tofu mock reuben from our local coop, it was acquired, and it was delicious.
