Dollar tree tests... getting lighter?

Hi ladies-

I know there is a point where the HCG is too high for the tests, does anyone know when that occurs?

I took a Wondfo test maybe 5 days ago and the test line was darker than the control line... that same day the dollar tree test line was a bit lighter than the control line.... I have taken a few more and this morning, the test line was very positive, but lighter than the control line and lighter than the tests I took 5 days ago.

I am still having my nausea off and on all day, but not nearly as bad as with either of my DDs at this point..... I am tired and cranky.... my nipples are slightly sensitive when DD2 nurses.... (and my supply is very low).  I am going to have a home birth and really don't want to get my HCG tested (as my insurance sucks).... No spotting or anything alarming.  I think I am not getting any early US (since my insurance sucks), but have my first mw appt in a week (from tuesday).  I will be almost 8 weeks, so not much chance to hear the heartbeat at that point.  I had a loss at 8-9 weeks (after I saw the heartbeat) before DD1 and a chemical in January.... I think this may be our last chance, so I really really want a sticky baby.

What do you think?

I wouldn't trust the tests at this point.  The whole 'tests getting darker' thing only really counts until like 15-17 dpo in my opinion.. and they aren't always telling you anything even then because of dye and pee-concentration variations ..   Obviously, i can't tell you what will happen, but i feel for you.  I had a bligted ovum in 2007 at 11 weeks. my tests were slow to get darker very early on, but they were eventually plenty dark, so taking a test at 5-6 weeks wouldn't have told me anything.. my tests did not get any lighter until after i had been bleeding for days and miscarried, in fact, my hcg was still 2000+ the day AFTER i miscarried .. so really, don't listen to the tests.   As for the symptoms, you had 2 girls, maybe this one is a boy?  I had 2 girls and 1 boy and my morning sickness was later to set in and much more manageable with my boy than my girls ..

I am also planning a homebirth and i don't want to deal with trying to get in to  see an OB just to have to leave and deal with the insurance and all of that..  I also know how expensive my miscarriage was because after i miscarried they billed me for everything differently than they would have if i'd had a live birth and it cost nearly as much as giving birth in the hospital would have (and i miscarried naturally, at home)

anyway.. if you need a 'try not to worry' buddy, i'm here.  when nothing else works, i try to remind myself that there is likely nothing that could be done either way.. so we might as well wait it out..   I do have a doppler, it was the best investment ever for my last 2 pregnancies.. that way, when i go see my midwife at almost 9 weeks, if i don't hear the HB i know i can keep trying and i don't have to wait until nearly 13 weeks whne i see her again.. plus, my midwife had to use my doppler with my last pregnancy because she couldn't find my baby with her doppler until my 16 week appt last time .. do you think your midwife would let you come in every few days or every week until you hear a HB?  i've been able to find my babies by just over 9 weeks the last 2 times..

Thanks Etsdtm99.  I got my BFP at 10dpo and it got dark pretty fast.... I stopped testing and just got a few more for FUN.... bad idea.

If I am still worried when I see her in a week and a half, I can request a referral to an US just to make sure (if I hear the heartbeat.... no need for the early US).

Deep breaths, right!

I  have had 2 miscarriages & will be calling my OB on Monday morning. I want to schedule an early vaginal ultrasound to get a visual on baby. Our most recent m/c was in April, so this pregnancy was faster than what we expected. I will have some bloodwork run too. Our insurance is okay and we definitely want a home birth for this little bean, but it is easier to go through the OB & insurance for the initial part.

We have 3 healthy boys and if we m/c this one, I don't know if I can go forth with a 7th pregnancy emotionally.

I don't know what to tell you, but I totally understand where you are coming from.

I've never experienced miscarriage, and there are probably many causes, but isn't a common on low progesterone? I use a progesterone supplement by Young Living called Progessence Plus. I was a little nervous this time because my hormones and adrenals have been really out of whack the past 6 months, so I muscle tested myself and started using 30 drops again. It won't hurt and the other oils in the blend help with other issues as well, so I figured either way it was win, win.

Chloe'sMama,
Stop testing, you'll drive yourself crazy. Are you still feeling symptoms? Are you worried?

My 88 cent walmart tests started getting lighter at about 5 weeks, so I bought a frer and it was clear as day- pregnant. I think those dollar tree test can only handle so much hormone.

Other than the tests, is there any other reason you'd be worried? Also, remember that sometimes dollar tree tests are lighter than the control line anyway.

I wouldn't worry though I know that's easier said than done.

Well, i was so worried that i got a pack of frer tests and took one this afternoon. Test line was as dark as or a little darker than the control. Then after my nap nap with dd2, so i took another with diluting the urine maybe 50-75% and test line was way way darker than control!
