NewMumJoy--oh, my sympathies! That sounds way too familiar! How is it that mothers are able to so completely take over our lives, and then make us regress a good 20 years? My mom's visit felt similar, although she didn't take over so much physically as your mom is. But she did take a lot of emotional energy. She needs a lot of attention. Ugh. I hope you're able to survive! I guess just take the opportunity to put your feet up??!
LilyTiger--it would be nice to have a mellow baby, wouldn't it? Your descriptions are so funny! By the way, how's your writing going? (don't mean to bring up a sore subject, if it is one :)
ithappened--ahhh!!! the final 0-5 weeks! It's suddenly feeling so real and close! I know this is all overwhelming for you, so I hope that you're able to take time for yourself these days and gather your strength.
LeAnn--congratulations on your girl! How exciting to finally find out! We are waiting until birth to find out, but sometimes when I hear stories like yours, I'm so tempted to just find out now.
ainh--sounds like you have a lot on your plate right now. I hope that San Diego starts to feel a little more like home soon, and that you get the odor issues resolved somehow. There is nothing grosser than living in a smelly place. Also, my wallet got stolen while I was traveling in Chicago in March--what a miserable, horrible experience! So I totally sympathize with you.
Ninetales--congrats for being so on top of things! That must feel really good. I know it's frustrating that the mainstream medical system doesn't always make sense--you'd think they'd want to provide as much information/education as they can to pregnant women, rather than wait until there are big problems. But it sounds like you are still doing OK when it comes to staying on top of your blood sugar.
Andaluza--I hope you have a great shower this weekend!
RedTree--welcome! A parasite--how scary! I can totally understand how that would change your experience of this pregnancy drastically. I'm glad to hear that everything looks fine though.
KristyDi--so happy to hear that you like your new midwife! Here's hoping that everything falls into place with your move too. And that your RL pain feels better! It's not fun feeling even more immobilized than we already do.
I'm sorry if I missed anyone! I hope you all have a great weekend! I've been doing pretty well this week. I was going to go to a LLL meeting on Wednesday. Why did I think it was Wednesday? It was actually Tuesday, which I didn't find out until it was too late. I seriously thought it said Wednesday when I checked last week, and I don't usually make those kinds of mistakes. I think pregnancy is turning my brain into mush. So now I'll have to wait until next month.
We are slowly organizing our apartment--bought a big wardrobe to put in our bedroom so we can get rid of our individual dressers and a bookshelf and desk. I hope that will free up some space for baby stuff. But we're at the point where everything just looks like chaos. There are piles here and there and stuff all over the place as we try to reorganize in such a small space. It kind of drives me crazy, and I think it actually makes me sleep worse at night, just knowing that things aren't in their proper places!
