I'm not sure if anybody has seen this...
Two mom/filmmakers have collaborated to create a documentary about Ina May Gaskin and the Farm Midwives. The project needs $50,000 to be funded for release and they have a kickstarter project for it http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/birthstory/birth-story-pushes-on-to-the-los-angeles-film-fest
If you haven't used kickstarter before, you choose any amount greater than $1.00 to donate, and you are only charged if the funding goal is reached. I donated what I could to what is (to me) a very valuable project.
Ina May's books were what led me down the road to considering, and now planning for a home birth for #2 (currently ttc). The birth stories she shares are beautiful and insightful into the beauty of childbirth, and what the female body is truly capable of. I was terrified of giving birth with DS, and now I feel a greater sense of peace knowing what my body is capable of, and having read about ecstatic and peaceful births.
Thanks for reading, and I hope that you will pass this on to others you feel may want to support this project.
