I just heard the heartbeat! « Back to Group Discussions

My friend (also midwife) was over for lunch and got her doppler out.  It took a bit of hunting (she was aiming lower as i'm very popped out for 10+5, so she asked me to try where i thought the fundus was) but we found it eventually.  So sweet, just a few seconds then i stopped (as we'd been trying for a good few minutes).

Oh how wonderful!!!!! :) I"m itching to hear the heartbeat - we have a doula friend with a doppler as well but am waiting till at least next week (I'll be 12 weeks then) when we have a first appointment with a new lovely Dr. :) I can't wait!!!

That is so cool!  My MW tried to find it for DH and I at 9W+4 but it was just too early.  I have another appointment next Friday (11W+5)so I'm sure I'll hear then!

We just heard the heartbeat for the first time last Saturday!  I was a day shy of eleven weeks.  Such a relief!

Just heard it here at a little over 12 weeks this week...took a few minutes to find it (kept on hearing my own pulse which was fast as I was nervous).  Then we caught it for a few seconds and I was able to relax. 

So amazing, it also means I can't really deny it anymore either!  As if being sick and exhausted wasn't enough of a sign....but honestly hearing it really does make it feel more real!
