Looking for clever ideas to tell family « Back to Group Discussions

We're telling my husband's family when we go to his parents' house for their 4th of July festivities.

In the past, we just spit it out. This time, I want something a little different. After our son died this past March, I feel as though we could all use something to make us smile. I want to tell them in a cute and clever way but have no idea how. Any suggestions??

You could have your youngest wear a "big brother" t shirt or something like that.
That's the best I can come up with at 6:30 while my kids are up and already starting their fight/play cycle. :-/

If you're anything like me, and Im not assuming you are- I now our situations are different, but you might not want to do the whole big brother/sister thing because you may feel like your youngest is already a big brother/sister. I know I do.

One cute way to tell at a big family event is to get everyone together for a family photo and right before you snap the picture you say, "Ok everyone, 1-2-Jill smith is pregnant!!!" and snap the picture. You get to keep all their reactions forever! (which might not be great for my family, but might work great for yours.)

You could also (if you are going to an ultrasound appointment before then) record the heartbeat and take an ultrasound pic. Send out a mass text with the recording, pic, and the edd.

Also, you could just have your youngest kid stand up and make the announcement.
