Announcement FAIL! « Back to Group Discussions

So I REALLY wanted to do birth announcements this time around since it was a planned pregnancy and everyone was happy about it. I did get them printed out but I haven't sent them out yet. Between the thrush battle and remodeling the kitchen and adjusting to 2 children and just being lazy I guess. I had set them up in DS bedroom and forgot about them. He's now 4 months. Do you think it's too late to send them?

I was thinking about sending them and writing a note saying to Please not send gifts but then I read that it is implied that it is an announcement and not a request for gifts. Uhhhh why does this all have to be so complicated. Tiny prints says as long as it's before 6 months it's okay to send them. But other sites say 2 months.... What would you do? Did you send out announcements?

I heard that its appropiate up until 6 months. That's what my cousin did. I still haven't sent them out either. If I do, I'll do shutterfly since I have a couple coupons and I think you can upload addresses and have them address and send it.

I don't think you should care too much about timing- people will be happy to get the announcements!  I had actually heard 1 year, although that might be for Thank you notes from weddings?

I think it's fine, most people understand that it's so busy those first months. We just did e-announcements because I just knew I wouldn't get around to sending them.

Yeah that! No one will be shaking their heads over lateness...they'll be too busy cooing over the cute baby pic! Send them when you get a chance and don't worry about it!
