Hi,
I am a mother to 2 children (DS - 3yrs, DD - 9mths) and have just given up work to be with them full time. I have registered to become a childminder to keep the pennies rolling in and am thrilled to be looking after my best friends son from September. Both her and I are APs and have co-slept, baby worn and Breast fed exclusively. We are both very anti sleep training and so neither of our little ones will put themselves to sleep or nap in a travel cot. In fact my DS wakes the second I hover her over the cot.
So how on earth am I going to get a 1 year old and a 10 month old down to sleep for a nap in the afternoon? My DS will nap quite easily if I BF her to sleep in our bed, or BF her in the sling and transition her into the bed.
My friends little boy rarely naps and even his mum can't get him to sleep very easily. If she does its by BF and then lying with him I think. Sometimes she can then creep away and leave him on his mattress on the floor.
I have looked all over childminding forums but just get the usual negative crap about parents having ruined their children etc
ANy advice gratefully received :-)
Thanks heaps xxx
