  • EDD (feel free to use 1st or 2nd half if you prefer) ~ Between 3/31 - 4/2
  • Your Name: (if you would like to share) ~  Cari
  • Age:~ 30
  • State or Country: ~ WA
  • How long it took to you to get your BFP: ~ Stopped actively preventing in 2010, tried off and on throughout 2011 actively trying since April 2012.
  • What number child is this for you: ~ 4
  • Family (partner, other children, and/or furbabies): ~ Hubby and kiddo's are all in my siggy ~ I also own a petstore so I have *lots* of fur babies including 2 dogs, 4 cats, a bird, a rabbit, a couple of guinea pigs and lots more!
  • Baby's Gender (hopes or guesses): ~ We've got 3 girls so far so it would really be nice to have a boy, but I'm 100% ok with another girl too!
  • Birth Plans/Preferences: ~ DD1 was born at a hospital and the experience was less then ideal. DD2 & 3 were both home water births and they were wonderful experiences. Unfortunately, my midwife passed away last year (she had ALS) so we're going to have to find a new midwife this time around. We're definitely going for another home wb though :)

My babies usually go to 41+ weeks so it's pretty unlikely that I'll have a March baby, but thanks for letting me hang out here until there is an April club!

are these being updated? I'm still not on the first post list...

I am sorry, it has been a horrific week - I will update asap!

My name is Heather, I am 29, and I live in Colorado. This will be my second child, been seeing the father for about 4 years now, but just recently split before I knew I was preggo. I plan on looking into homebirth, but either way want a midwife. I am due March 24th, and am super excited that I wont be super pregnant in the summer like I was with my son. I found out I was pregnant last saturday when I woke up and found myself crying about the dishes, I went straight to the store and the test didnt even take but long enough for the strip to get wet for the positive sign to show. This last monday was my Dr. Appt to confirm. Dad is totally freaked, but I am choosing to stay optimistic at this surprise blessing. Good to meet you all smile.gif

Ok, I am so exceedingly sorry that I took so long to update everyone! If I have missed anything, please let me know, or if you would like ne to rewrite your line, just shoot me a PM with what you want it to say. Also, I have not kept up very well with the DDC this week (it was a REALLY bad week) so if I have missed any mamas that have had a loss, could someone let me know? I am going to try and catch up right now.

Thanks so very much for your patience!

  • EDD Early to Mid March- I have a feeling Mid March since I am a first time mom!
  • Your Name: Lauren
  • Age: 29, will be 30 when this baby is born
  • State or Country: Texas!
  • How long it took to you to get your BFP: 4.5 VERY LONG YEARS!!!
  • What number child is this for you: Hard to answer- we had a failed adoption after having baby girl home for 12 days, and multiple losses. This will be our first live child that will stay with us!
  • Family (partner, other children, and/or furbabies): DH and one dog
  • Baby's Gender (hopes or guesses): I have incredibly strong girl feelings
  • Birth Plans/Preferences: Hope for a Hypnobabies Waterbirth
  • Blog, website or the like: Jumpovertherainbow.com
  • Anything else you'd like to share: I was supposed to be completely unable to get pregnant after a diagnosis of early ovarian failure over a year ago. My hormone counts showed almost zero eggs left in my body, and I'm not even 30 years old. Here I am completely unexpectedly pregnant with no fertility interventions in over a year. We are BEYOND shocked but very much feel this is the universe giving us our child. I have less fear this time than ever before because I just don't doubt the vibes I"m getting that this is "it" and I am supposed to let go of worry.

Hi mamas!!!  I am so excited that I thought to come check out Mothering for a DDC!  I read on here all the time so may as well join!

  • EDD: UPDATE: U/S confirmed EDD is 03/15

Doctor claims 03/14 but I have a 32-36 day cycle which puts it at 03/17.  It's not worth the fight yet - I suppose we'll worry about it when we get an U/S!

  • Age: 24 - 25 in December!
  • Name: Melissa
  • State or Country: Missouri
  • How long it took to you to get your BFP: Um, well, DH has an intact (doctor confirmed it shouldn't be working) vasectomy so we weren't exactly trying...but we've been *ahem* rather bunny natured for 5 months before we got a BFP by sheer miraculous accident!
  • What number child is this for you: SO's 3rd, my 4th pregnancy but 2nd child
  • Family (partner, other children, and/or furbabies):  The ridiculous ferret Nibbler, SO (Cam), DS (SO's), DD1 (Mine), and DD2 (SO's)
  • Baby's Gender (hopes or guesses): Of course just healthy baby but SO is hoping for another (for him) boy and I'm hoping for another girl.  I want to avoid the circ fight (SO is of Jewish heritage) and I want to see what a biological daughter of his truly looks like (DD2 isn't HIS but is his for all intents and purposes, kwim?).  Plus, I just want another girl!
  • Birth Plans/Preferences: I'm not a HBAC candidate and after much trouble FINALLY found a doc that will consider VBACs.  I'm most likely not a candidate but we'll find out soon enough.  If I'm forced to have a repeat section I'm hoping to make it as natural and crunchy as I can.  (Lowered lighting, SO still cut the cord, immediate skin to skin contact, etc.)  I'm truly hoping for a VBAC though since this is my last baby (unfortunately)!
  • Anything else you'd like to share: Lol, our lives are a bit of a soap opera between the exes but hopefully it'll get sorted soon.  As I said above we were SUPER shocked to find out we were pregnant since SO, by all accounts, should be unable to have children!  We have to be super sneaky and quite about the whole thing for a while yet so I'm very glad to have found a place that I can talk about it and especially fellow crunchy mamas!!

Hi everyone!  I couldn't see this group for a while, don't know why... but I found it now!

  • EDD March 20
  • Your Name: Sarah
  • Age: 40 as of next week. Gulp.
  • State or Country: British Columbia, Canada
  • How long it took to you to get your BFP:  Uh... 3 1/2 years?  Issues. Not mine, and not going into them.
  • What number child is this for you: 2
  • Family (partner, other children, and/or furbabies):  Husband, daughter Rowan (6 1/2) and a dog with whom I'm not amused at the moment and a cat.
  • Baby's Gender (hopes or guesses):  Chinese horoscope says boy.  Husband wants girl.  I'm totally ambivalent, I'll take anything mostly healthy and human.
  • Birth Plans/Preferences:  We'll see how it goes.  If it's anything like last time, I'm not going to mess around at home, but if I can get baby positioned right, I'd rather avoid the hospital food.

  • Family (partner, other children, and/or furbabies): Loving DH and 2 sweet but spoiled kitties

  • Baby's Gender (hopes or guesses): Always wanted a boy but have a feeling I'm going to get a girl

  • Birth Plans/Preferences: Clueless at this point

  • Anything else you'd like to share: Originally from the US but have been living overseas for 4 years and am a little (more like a LOT) freaked out about the birthing options available here. But I'm just going to do my best and roll with it.

  • EDD: March 17th
  • Your Name: Rae
  • Age: 31
  • State or Country: USA
  • How long it took to you to get your BFP: First month charting. We were blessed on our second try!
  • What number child is this for you: First (!!!!)
  • Family (partner, other children, and/or furbabies): My husband and our furbaby Blueberry.
  • Baby's Gender (hopes or guesses): I couldn't care less which gender, however I have a feeling it is a boy
  • Birth Plans/Preferences: Home birth
  • Anything else you'd like to share: I am having a difficult time with morning sickness but thankfully I am a homeopath and have found some relief. My favorite book so far is Ina May's Guide to Childbirth, which has me in tears (of wonder) nearly every night AND it is full of useful, helpful info. This child is already so loved, and I already feel so connected.

  • EDD: March 11th (My Grandpa's Birthday!)
  • Your Name: Jess, Jessie, or Jessica or Lubrarian at work
  • Age: 32, birthday on October Fool's Day
  • State or Country: FL .. very sad about this right now
  • How long it took to you to get your BFP: Totally not trying! Didn't try for any of our children! I was on birth control pills for my first, BC pills and condom for our twins, and IUD for this one!
  • What number child is this for you: This will be #4 and hopefully not also #5!
  • Family: DH Joe is a SAHD who is supposed to be an artist but might become a forestry officer or security guard and who is absolutely, completely, retired from SAHDing ;); We have 3 boys  Our oldest is almost 5 and starting K, lucky for me he attends the school I work at; The next two are 3.5 and a wild tornado, one is obsessed with cars and racing, the other princesses and ponies :) .. we also have a dog, two cats, a rabbit, and live on property with two horses. My mom and sister live on the same property as we do.
  • Baby's Gender: Really, really, really hoping for a girl .. Chinese calendar says girl .. but if it's a boy we know they come out great and we can save money on hand me downs.
  • Birth Plans/Preferences: My first was at a Birthing Center and all natural and amazing! He aspirated fluid and was rushed to the NICU where they over reacted because he was born in the hippie hospital and he had to stay for a week. The twins were CS because the belt I had to wear to hold them up bothered my guys head and he flipped breech at the last second. Stupid belt! I'm hoping for a VBAC, it's tricky in FL to find a doctor that will do one. I'm not allowed to use a birthing center by law which is stupid. I'm considering an HBAC but I live 35 minutes from a hospital and I think my mom would freak out! OF course I could always just wait and wait and wait to go to the hospital ;)
  • Blog, website or the like: I'm all over Facebook feel free to look me up .. DH has a website www.joelubyink.com
  • Anything else you'd like to share: I'm really scared what my in laws are going to say about this whole thing .. I'm sure they won't be very supportive. They were very behind DH being a SAHD in the beginning but now I think his dad is over it and wants him to get a job. He's been trying! He's either over qualified because he has a BFA or under qualified because he doesn't have a Masters .. dumb.  He recently got his security license so we are hoping that will help. We already scrape by on my teacher's salary, which isn't very much, and to cover the family on health insurance through the district would be half my paycheck, so we had to put the kids on Medicaid. I'm trying to enjoy this pregnancy as it will likely be my last and cherish the time, I really do love being pregnant, but am afraid of what other people will think of us having another. Even though we weren't trying at all!

  • EDD End of March. Technically the 28th, though I am pretty sure I ovulated 2 days early, but I am going to keep it at that since most likely it will be the beginning of April if this baby trends with my others.
  • Your Name: Mariah
  • Age: 27
  • State or Country: North Carolina
  • How long it took to you to get your BFP: 2-3 months
  • What number child is this for you: Third baby
  • Family (partner, other children, and/or furbabies): Married to my high school "Sweetheart". I have a DS who will be 5 this month and a DD who will be 3 this month.  and Furbaby 2yo pit mix
  • Baby's Gender (hopes or guesses): I am kind of hoping for a boy, but will be happy with either. I dont have a strong boy feeling yet like I did with my DS by this time. We keep going back and forth about if we are going to find out.
  • Birth Plans/Preferences: Had a homebirth with my second and would really love to do it again, but the homebirth scene is a little difficult here right now, so more than likely I will go to the birth center that I work at.
  • Anything else you'd like to share: I just graduated and became a CNM in May. I work at the birth center as an RN right now and will be transitioning to the midwife role there soon. A little nervous how we will work out child care, but it will work out some how
