Hi Dr. Sears !! its great to be able to refer to you .

I was wondering if its possible for my dd which is now 18 mos to have an egg allergy or sensitivity after she has been eating them since she turned 1 year with no prob, and just lately she started developing little rashes in diaper area mostly, and once in neck but also it is terribly hot here in the beach so .. it could be heat rash, but ive been pulling them out and soon after i feed her egg again, in a day she has another little red spot.

Is it possible for her to be sensitive or allergic when she wasnt for months before ??

And is it harmful to keep giving her egg, if the reaction is so small ?

And also shes been 19 lbs since 12 mos old, could this have to do with a food also ?

Thanking you in advance

This sounds like a pretty small reaction.  It IS possible to not be allergic earlier, then develop the allergy.  But I'm not sure this is an allergic thing or not.  It's up to you if you want to keep feeding eggs. maybe keep trying to see how the rash is on and off eggs?  As for the weight, that wouldn't be due to a food allergy unless she was having chronic diarrhea from it.
