DH's semen analysis came back from last week. He has a low count. :( The doctor (she is our general practitioner) said it's not super low (I don't know the #), but she thinks it may be due to his hypothyroidism and that he hasn't been taking his medication all of the time like he should, as well as the fact that his antidepressant could be causing issues. She said she wants me to come in for blood tests and stuff too just to be sure, since I have gained weight and am still breastfeeding. She said on my part there could be an issue with too much or too little insulin, and then of course high prolactin/low progresterone due to breastfeeding and my weight. DH has to go back again next week for more tests, including his testosterone levels and all of that, as well as discuss changing his antidepressant to something that isn't likely to affect fertility. I guess I'll make an appointment for next week as well. I'm glad we're finally getting answers, but it hurts me to think that it could be several months more (we've been officially TTC about 17 cycles/not preventing over 2 years) before I could even have a slight chance of getting pregnant again. I also really don't want to hear the "you're too fat" lecture, because I'm only about 20lbs over what I was when I got pregnant with DD. Yes, obviously, I AM fat, and I want to lose lots and lots of weight in a healthy way, but I know that it can't be the ONLY reason I'm not getting pregnant. I also worry that if I lose weight too fast (which I'm likely to because I'm significantly overweight), that could make my fertility even worse. This really sucks. :*( Any insight/advice/similar stories?
