odinsmama - i never went to a LLL meeting with DD. i felt SO BAD about myself for not being able to EBF i hardly left the house for the first 3 months PP. i was planning a homebirth, ended up with a c-section. planned to EBF, ended up using an SNS, pumping around the clock, taking every supplement know to woman until DD was about 11mo. building and maintaining my supply was like a part time job! ;) i saw an IBCLC and a lactation physician. i also got a lot of donations on milkshare, but i only found milkshare when DD was about 4 months. i think this time I will definitely go to LLL meetings. if only just to share with other moms my journey! (and i DO know a lot about lactation now!) but, i'm know there are plenty of mamas who will be happy to share. we were so grateful to the mamas who helped us with DD!
I hope you do decide to go to some meetings! And I *highly* recommend going to a couple while you're still pregnant. It is great to start connecting with other moms ahead of time so you won't feel like a total stranger showing up exhausted, with a newborn, cleaning spit-up off the carpet and changing a diaper during the best part of the conversation. :)
Since you had such a rough go the first time around, at least maybe you'll be more prepared this time for "whatever happens" and be able to do whatever you can and be at peace with whatever you can't.
