Real labor? « Back to Group Discussions

Even though this is my second, because I was medically induced before having any labor symptoms, I don't know what to expect and can't tell if what's going on is real or not!  Here's what's going on - I've been having contractions for about 2 days now - started regular on Monday at 10 min apart, then stopped, then became more regular in the evening at about 5-7 minutes apart for several hours before stalling.  Then yesterday it was every 20-30 mins all day and continuing into the night while I (tried) to sleep.  Today I had a midwife appointment - I went from 1-3cm since last week and am having bloody show, but the contractions are still irregular - 13min, 10, 12, and then 5...    The contractions are painful, but moderate - I can definitely talk through them, but they're stronger today than yesterday.  I'm hoping this baby comes today but don't know when I should feel like it's 'real.  Any thoughts are welcome

WMass- sounds nearly identical to what is going on with me.  I was also induced with my DD and am having trouble figuring out if these symptoms are the real thing,  Only a few of my contractions are painful, but they have been getting pretty regular.  Hopefully it means both of us are going soon!

guess it was real!  Baby boy Harper born 6/28 at around 7am. Not the fast 2nd labor I'd hoped for (went to hospital at 3:30pm at 3cm, 9cm by 11pm and then no progress at 6am, ended up with a c-section at 7am.  baby was very big, had cord around neck and was sunny side up - his stalled descent led to major drops in heartbeat and other stress, so c-sec was necessary)
