I've got an appointment with a gastro coming up, but I would love to hear if anyone has any ideas about what's going on with me. A while back (maybe 6 months ago?) I started having this pain in my stomach just about every night for about 2 1/2 weeks. The pain was bad enough that it kept me awake, but not bad enough to make me think anything was horribly wrong. When I finally decided to see someone about it though, it stopped and I thought that was the end of it.
I didn't feel anything at all for a few months, then out of nowhere one evening, I felt the same pain, but it was a LOT more intense (like almost on the same level as natural childbirth) and I felt nauseous and gassy also. The pain lasted maybe 10 minutes then went away completely and I was left feeling a little shakey and mildly nauseous for an hour or so.
Fast forward a month and the pain came back in the middle of the afternoon. It was just as bad as the last time, but lasted almost two hours and I didn't feel very good again for a couple of days.
It came again last night just as bad as ever and lasted about 1/2 an hour, nausea, bloated gassy feeling and all.
The pain starts about halfway up my ribs and runs down in two lines (one on either sid of my navel) down into my stomach. It radiates through my stomach to my back, but isn't nearly as intense back there. I seem to feel it up in my right shoulder also and it seems to be (VERY slightly) worse on the right side. I also sometimes feel like theres a lot of air in my stomach bubbling around.
I do know that I have gallstones (my urologist saw them on a ct scan I had done for kidney stones), but I'm not sure that's what is causing this. I've had a lot of gas since this all started (which is very unusual for me) and I get nauseous for no apparent reason a couple of times a week. I can't come up with any "triggers"
Any input/thoughts/experiences would be greatly appreciated!
