Thanks for this post. With my first pregnancy I never tested positive, but this time I was tested EARLY on and it was positive in my urine. I was shocked, and I honestly didn't believe my OB office (I don't believe much they tell me). I agreed to antibiotics, but I am wondering how this will impact me in labor (I will be with a homebirth midwife at that point).
A few years ago I posted this link on my blog about alternative treatments for group b strep.
I think I'll have my midwife test me and if I'm STILL positive, I'll do the regimen and have her retest me closer to term.
Or at least that's what I'm thinking right now.
(I'm still in shock that they tested me at 6 weeks gestation)
