VBAC post-duedate friendly providers in Columbia or St Louis, MO

Hello, all -- I was wondering if anyone could give me some recommendations for a VBAC provider in Columbia, MO -- I'm willing to drive if I have to -- to St. Louis, Fulton, Jefferson City, etc.

At my prenatal today, I was given a 41-week deadline to go into labor (I was induced with DD at 41+4 or 5, which ended in a c/s). I would really like to push for 42+1 if possible.

I called Dr. Michael Burks today (I found him on another thread) and was told by the secretary that it was too late to transfer care (I'm almost 28 weeks). I'm actually going to call again tomorrow and word my question slightly differently and see if I can at least get in to consult with him.

I know that someone else on MDC had recommended Jacqueline Green, but it appears that she is no longer practicing, and also Elizabeth Allerman is no longer delivering babies.

Crystal, I believe we've met. Just wanted to get an update about Burks' response. He is willing to go post dates with vbac moms although he seems to not like going past 42 weeks without doing something to get things started. Good luck!

I called Burks back and got a consult for Wednesday (it would have been earlier, but the 4th was the next Wednesday, and I guess that's when he does new patient visits).

I'm also meeting with Melodie Stocks in Moberly on Tuesday. She's an Ob/DO, which I like -- maybe she can do a chiropractic adjustment at prenatals? And also, the hospital in Moberly apparently has a 12-13% c/s rate? (!)

I found some hospital midwives in Marshall, MO (I wish I'd known about them my first pregnancy -- I'd at least have interviewed them) but they aren't allowed to take VBAC patients.

I'll update again after I speak with both Stocks & Burks.

I just wanted to update that I am going to switch care to Dr. Burks -- I'm feeling much better about the situation than I was before, but it really is frustrating that it is so incredibly difficult to find doctors
A) willing to support VBAC
B) willing to take transfer of care at 28-30 weeks
C) willing to wait on spontaneous labor until 42 weeks
when all three of those things are supported by ACOG, which is *their own professional organization* for crying out loud.
