Spotting, bleeding, clotting

Hi mamas.
I'm mostly lurking as a toddler in tow keeps me off the computer. I'm 10 weeks along and have been bleeding for 5 days...I spotted lightly a few days in my last pregnancy but this is different. No cramps but I need a light pad and it started as rusty in color then dark clots now bright red. I don't know why women bleed when pg but my mw says it's normal .
I guess I'm needing some support and am curious how much/how long any of you bled in your pregnancies? Is there a way to gauge when to worry? I haven't been to see anyone yet and am out if town until next week....

But today it lightened up and was like red ewcm then after a really sweaty walk to the playground I bled a lot of bright red blood and 2 big dark clots. My belly feels tight but not contractiony...maybe light cramps.

I just feel so helpless in my body right now.

I've not had any bleeding in my pregnancies but I know many women do. Have you spoken to your mw again? Did she give you any  guidelines about what is normal and what is something to contact her about?
