bentonite clay and babies?

Anyone here ever feed bentonite clay to an infant? Dd is 10mo and I wanted to try giving a couple small doses beotween feeds (EBF Due to allergies) to help with her eczema. I see no contraindication for it except maybe it would absorb nutrients from breast milk which is why id have to space out between feeds. Just wondering if anyone has BTDT or has any experience to loan me smile.gif

I haven't seen anything about this.  Have you gone completely free of dairy and soy simultaneously for 2 weeks to see if that would help?  At least plenty of people have done that without having to worry if it's okay.  :)

I used olive oil on my babies' eczema.  It's still my go-to for cracking, peeling, dry skin.

I don't know anything about bentonite clay, but I see on wikipedia that it's used as a laxative, which is backed up by bulkherbstore.com, which recommends it for internal cleansing and cautions that you should drink LOTS of water while taking it internally.  This information would make me uncomfortable giving it to a 10 month old to ingest.

Some users are reporting success using it for dermatological issues in a bath or as a poultice.  I would be more comfortable with that than with ingestion.

Eczema also sometimes responds well to homeopathic remedies.
