aden+anais swaddling blankets? Or how r you swaddling in the heat? « Back to Group Discussions

This occurred to me as I was washing all my awesome huge flannel swaddling blankets- I think they will be way too hot!  Soooo my girlfriends suggested these to me- I saw hers- they looked awesome and thin and gauzy (although the company lists them as muslin)....  but she didn't tell me the price- holy smokes!  Very spendy!  But... we live in Iowa (obviously) and it is sooo hot and humid and we don't have a/c and I just kind of want something new and lovely.....  So has anyone used them?  I would probably order the boutique ones instead of the target ones- just because my babies are usually very good sized and grow so fast- but the idea of spending $40-50 on 4 stinking blankets freaks me out....

i bought 4 for $27 on amazon and sold half of them since i didnt want 4

We got some from our baby shower and I LOVE them! Especially in this heat! They're light enough for this weather and are super soft and huge. I didn't realize they were quite that spendy. I don't think I would have paid $50 for them, but $27 off amazon wouldn't be too bad...

But they will shrink right?  And then I wonder if I don't want the extra 3" just in case?  I should measure my flannel ones- they might be 44" to start with and then shrunk a little.  Maybe I will check at Target next time I am in town...  Good to know that others like them too before I commit :)

I have them and absolutely love them.  We have both the muslin and the bamboo blankets and while we have some of the cheap flannel ones, we pretty much only use the A&A blankets.  Besides the moby wrap and our boppy newborn lounger, they are our most-used baby purchase!

I really like these as well.  They are nice and light and a bit stretchy which means they is actually a chance I'll get it tight enough to keep his arms in.

I have the Aden & Anais boutique ones that are 47 inches (I bought a 4-pack on a deal-a-day site and used two to wrap shower gifts for others, kept two for myself).  They now have a line at Target that are a little different in order to bring the price down to $35 (smaller 44" size that a pp referred to).  I also saw that now Summer Infant has a three-pack that is under $20 at Walmart.

I stopped at Target today and got a pack- they look awesome!  Dh won't let me take them out though because he knows if we have a girl I will want pink ones :) Now I just need a baby to go in them!  Ohhh and I didn't really pay for them :)  Well I kind of did 2 weeks ago when I bought a new camera that went on sale this week.  They did a price match and I got a refund of more than the blankets!  So YAY!

I hate walmart and never go there- but I might order those to try!  I love the green!

OK- I looked the walmart ones up on Amazon and found a ton of different ones way cheaper!  Yay- since I think I will love these and I have 2 cousins who are having babies in August :)  I think I will just keep what I have and then maybe order  the amazon ones when I have the baby- a set for me that is appropriate and a set for each of them!  Perfect since I already gave them nice shower gifts and will still need a somewhat cheaper baby gift :)

These blankets were my splurge this time around too, and I love them!!!  They are perfect for this heat!  I haven't noticed any significant shrinking, but I've been line drying everything and not using my dryer at all.  There's a tutorial on Pinterest to make them, but after pricing the cotton gauze and the time it would take to sew them up with my little helpers, I opted to just buy the Aden & Anais 4-pack.  Baby decided to come sooner rather than later, so I'm super glad I went that route b/c I wouldn't have gotten around to sewing them up in time.
