Due on the first! « Back to Group Discussions

With only... 2 days left until my EDD I have FINALLY found the group forums on this website. ack!

Well I have been progressing 1 cm a week. I'm barely at 3 now and she just became totally head down and in position this passed week. When people see me in public they say 'o you look like you're only about 6 or 7 mo! You haven't even dropped yet!' I've been eating spicy food, walking almost an hour every day, and trying to enjoy... extracurricular activities.... as much as possible. The most contractions I had were 2 nights ago. There were 3 at only 10 min apart.. and then suddenly went away :-(

My first LO was 2 weeks early. So why does this one have to be SOOOOOO stubborn!?!

I'm really glad I finally found the July group though. I had almost given up hope! Is anyone else getting super antsy?

Hi there and welcome! Just in the nick of time. 

I can't say as I'm antsy yet (though I have about a week and a half to go), but that's probably because we have so much left to do at home. Of course it also makes me nervous that the lack of feeling of urgency means that the baby will never come out.

lol, yes.  not feeling the same "urgent nesting" feeling I had with some of my others.   maybe this baby will hang out in-utero forever, or maybe i've reached a level of maturity in my childbearing that has finally made me realize that finishing the pre-baby to-do list does NOT make the baby come out sooner!

I WISH my to do list was done! I am the type of person that for every thing I cross off I add two more. I don't think that I will ever really feel like everything is ready, but o my goodness it would be nice to have my body back, especially in this 100 degree weather!

Welcome! I keep going back and forth between feeling ready and feeling a little sad about the pregnancy ending because I've really enjoyed being pregnant this time around. However... I'm being induced next Thursday night for medical reasons so i'm now moving over to desperately hoping that I'll go into spontaneous labor very soon. I've been given the go ahead to try pretty much anything I'd like to get it going (with the exception of castor oil, apparently) and I'm going to start giving them a try. At least it'll be a way to fill the time waiting, if nothing else

I'm not due until the 23rd, and apparently a psychic told my mom today that I'll deliver on 7/5. Eep! Definitely not ready for that, so it's good that I don't put much stock in psychics.

Well in about an hour I will officially be over due. Perhaps I will try some fenugreek tea. I've heard it will induce contractions. I like the idea of drinking herbal tea more than the idea of being shot with some pitocin!

Exercise and vigorous, ahem, intimate time, is what sent me into labor lol. But remember you arent actually post term until after 42 weeks.

Thanks Karrey! And I am also curious to know if that psychic turns out to be right after all! I am still researching to make sure there's no other negative effects of ingesting fenugreek. I'll let you know what happens!

Well I have an appointment to be induced on Monday if nothing happens before then. Luckily my Dr said that I'm so far along he's just going to try breaking my water instead of giving me any pitocin. That made me very relieved so I have decided to keep trying everything except for the fenugreek. It was more of a 'pitocin alternative' to me. Hopefully we'll be able to get things moving before too much longer!

Yes, good luck, knittindigo!  I don't think I have said hi to you just yet, so WELCOME -   I will send you some labor vibes so that maybe you'll go into labor on your own sometime this weekend and avoid the induction all together.  I'm 40 weeks this weekend and am getting a little nervous myself!

Well Goofy your labor vibes apparently worked miracles! I went into labor very early saturday morning and she was born the same afternoon! Her name is Penelope. She was 7 lbs 1 oz and 20 in long. She's tiny and cute and perfect! She even scored a 9  9 on her apgar!

I hope you got to see your bundle of joy this weekend as well! If not I'm sure it'll happen very soon!
