July 2012 Infertility One Thread -- Let the Fireworks Ignite! - Page 6

Sourire - I'm so sorry about the bbq. That must have been awful. I'm glad you were able to get away and have a good cry. Please be gentle with yourself hug2.gif

AFM, I called in with my day 1 yesterday (since it was my first day of more than just spotting) and I found out the clinic 5 minutes from me is CLOSED for two weeks, so I have to go downtown, an hour away, for all of my cycle monitoring. Since we're doing injectibles again, that means daily. ARGH. Why does this have to be so frustrating? DH was asking me earlier why everything has to be so difficult. I know we are blessed in so many ways, but I just want this to be easier.

SSB - That is beyond frustrating! Cuss.gif I'm so sorry you have to deal with more aggravation on this journey. hug2.gif

Sourire - Seriously?!?! That many preggers congregating is not ok without advance warning. I'm so sorry you found yourself in that position. You're a trooper for lasting 2 hours. hug2.gif

Rochelle - That's so scary about the accident. Thank goodness you were there to help out. How stressful. I hope everyone ended up ok. That's fantastic news from your RE!

AFM - Thanks for the thoughts on monitoring vs not. I had my second opinion appt today and I"m in love with the new doctor. He is way more on the same page as me. He actually thinks we have a better shot getting pregnant without IVF. I'm feeling so much relief and I actually trust the doctor.

I'm on CD 7 and started clomid on CD3. The new RE was adamant about monitoring since we don't know how my body will respond. So, they checked and I have 1 lead follicle at 16.5mm. My lining is a 5. I'm going in again tomorrow and expect to be doing the trigger tomorrow and IUI on Thursday. If I had listened to the other RE, I would have likely missed the window b/c they wanted me to start OPKs on CD 10.

I asked the RE if he was concerned that it was happening so early in my cycle, and he said no, it just means I responded well to the drug. He said that my lining isn't great, but he's had women get pregnant with worse lining. So, fingers crossed! I'm trying to stay optimistic without getting my hopes crazy high. Easier said than done.

Rochelle, can you please update my blurb?

SKJ2011 (34) DOR, DH (35) perfect. TTC #2 since Spring 2011. Missed m/c and D&C in March 2012. Started clomid + IUI in July 2012.

Thanks!

SKJ: Yep, I always O'd way earlier than they expected - and had I not been testing on my own, I would have missed it! I'm glad you got checked so early! If you keep having a thin lining, they can switch you to femara, which doesn't impact the lining as much. Or they can give you estrogen to take vaginally once you are done with the clomid to help boost your lining. Good luck!!! :-) This is happening so quickly for you - that's awesome!

Thanks Cindy! I know, short cycles are good for increasing our tries. I'm ok with extra AF's if it means more chances smile.gif

Haha DH told me this AF that he liked it better when she only came every 3-6 months. Except for the very unlikely to get pregnant that way part...

Does anyone know if I should take the last dose of clomid tonight based on my follicle size? The nurse never returned my call. Should I call the on-call doc (office is closed)?

SKJ: Can't hurt to call. My guess is you would still take it. I took my last dose of stims for IVF just a few hours before I triggered. So since you aren't triggering for a few more days, it will probably help the follicle keep growing. But then again, being off of it might help your lining. Def call!

Thanks. I called and the doc called me back jaw2.gif He was even a bit apologetic for not explaining it to me beforehand. So, I'm taking the pill tonight and then we'll see what my scan looks like tomorrow.

So glad I have you ladies for support/advice on all this. blowkiss.gif

Threadcrashing to say congrats to Milk8. Even if it's a how bout it kind of thing, it will still be exciting. Any pics of rings you looked at?

Simplyrochelle, Im glad the RE appt went well. Good luck to your nice big follie and thick lining!

Ok, back to stalking all you and hoping for a take home baby for all of you!

Just popping in to say congrats Milk!! I was surprised, becasue I didn't realize that you weren't married. I didn't get a real proposal either, we were shaking up and had DS long before we got married, then he lost his job and needed health insurance, so we went to the court house and got married that afternoon. I did get a lovely ring out of it though, which was his grandmothers. I actually prefer to lovely ring to a lovely proposal, if I had to choose one.

SKJ--got your blurb changed. Good luck with that nice big follicle!!! So glad your doc sounds so responsive.

Milk, I'm with Tear, let's see some pictures of the possibilities!

Shesaidbloom...that is so very frustrating to have to travel so much farther this time! I'm lucky that my RE understands that we have to drive 3 hours each way so he's agreed to some reduced monitoring as long as things progress as planned.

And Tear.....totally just read your signature and holy crap! I'm so happy for you guys!!! That's so exciting!!!

As for me, I'm 2dpo and maybe it was something about knowing we have an IUI as an option (and I guess technically sex is no longer required to make a baby) but it's left us feeling very refreshed and we definitely covered our bases. Come on free(ish) baby!

skj2011 - thank you
I'm so glad you're having a good experience with the doctor you're seeing. I hope this cycle is the one!

Rochelle - I'm glad your RE is understanding about it. Mine is definitely not. The nurses were really rude when I asked about the other location being closed. Ugh.
Come on baby!!

AFM, went in for my day 3 bloods/ultrasound. It ended up taking several hours because my bladder wasn't full enough when I first went in and I had to drink more. I was told to come back when I felt "full" and they'd take me right away. I went back to the desk and they had me wait 45 minutes longer! I was so upset. I drank what they told me to, I guess it just wasn't enough. I have my Gonal F in the fridge and am waiting for instructions.

I need a blurb change please..

Shesaidboom (28) TTC #1 since early 2007. Four early miscarriages and one second trimester loss. Struggling with PCOS. Four failed IUIs, three on Femara and one on Puregon. Currently on IUI #5, this time using Gonal F.

Hi Rochelle -

While you are at it, can you change my blurb too?

rcr (38) TTC #2 since December 2007. Three failed IVFs, four canceled IVFs, five failed medicated IUI cycles. Waiting for another IVF cycle in December, and trying to keep hope alive.

Rochelle - Fingers crossed for you!

SSB - Why do they need a full bladder for the u/s on CD3? Isn't it a vaginal one? That's so frustrating that they made you wait. Grrr!

AFM - I'm a bit perplexed. Yesterday, I had one lead follicle that measured 16.5. My estrogen was 160. Today, I had 1 lead follicle measuring 16. My estrogen was 242. The nurse said that the difference in u/s techs explains the different readings. I don't think 0.5 mm is much difference at all, but does it make sense that my follicle wouldn't have done anything in one day? I'm going in again on Thursday to have a look. On the one hand, I feel better that I"m not going to ovulate crazy early (CD 10), but on the other hand, I"m concerned/confused why there was no progress. Any experienced ladies want to weigh in on this?

SKJ: Just bc they are telling you it's smaller doesn't mean it hasn't grown - there really can be a big dif in how 2 people measure. Whomever measured today could have gotten 15 the last time you were checked. So that would mean it has grown from that point. I got super freaked out and thought some of my follies were way to big for the others to catch up after one of my IVF monitoring appointments - but then a couple days later I saw my regular doc and he said they were much smaller than the other person had measured. I think it happens a lot.

BTW - this just means your lining has extra time to fluff up too!

I need a blurb update too while you're at it.
