great deal Km! thats the system I use - prefold and a thirsty. I do have some pocket diapers (babyland===china cheapies) that I stuff with prefolds. http://www.boingobaby.com/

I don't really like snappi's. I ordered these new boingo diaper fasteners.Will let you guys know how awesome they are (or aren't) when i get them.

I am unwell. In my attempts to keep from being the debbie downer, I will just say that ever since Dodi was born (right before really) there has been something odd going on with my bod.

Fast forward to today and I go for a second opinion - they take swabs for cultures and are testing for mono and my white blood cells cause something is definitely going on with my throat - penicillan is not touching it and viral doesnt seem the correct answer. Mono comes back negative and I am to wait the next 48 hours. The lump in my armpit disappeared but it seems its all in my throat now? Hard to explain, but I am sick and tired and I love my baby so much that I just want to be well and healthy and enjoy this time. Ever since she has been born we have had some kind of weird health battle going on, and I am just sick of it.

I am beginning to think her weird illness she was hospitalized for is a piece of the puzzle with this weird illness I am going through. Who knows these things, I suppose.

Thanks for all the suggestions! After looking at about a million things, I ordered a 6-pack of osocozy prefolds and a Thirsties Duo cover. I use them until I either run out of clean prefolds or she makes a big enough mess that I want to wash the cover, and then switch to disposables and wash the diapers with the rest of the baby laundry at night. According to my math, they'll pay for themselves in about 3 weeks. Maybe even a little sooner, since we use a Diaper Genie which has special ($$) bags, so the fewer diapers we throw away the longer those bags last.

So far so good. She actually seems to tolerate a wet cloth diaper (slightly) better than a wet disposable. When we go out we use disposables, and my husband hasn't really figured out how to use the prefolds / cover, but the babysitter's on board. She cloth diapered her own kids because that's all that was available at the time. So compared to the pins and rubber pants of yesteryear, these are downright easy.

do you think she may be reacting to a chemical in the diaper or be sensitive to one of the ingredients? I think if it was just the wet, cloth would be worse... My DD only tolerated the natural fibers...

We're using boingos and they are awesome! I love snappis, but am really liking how the boingos hold on the diaper and don't have the claw thingy right in the crotch. We'll see how they work when he is mobile...

Onemoreontheway, I hope you get well soon! Sounds like you are worn down and have low level stuff going on... My tonsil was swollen after my last baby for months and is very sensitive still...
