Mei Tai - babywearing « Back to Group Discussions

My sister gave me her Mei Tai to use; has anyone used this and had success with it?  I thought I had everything figured out, now we are down to the wire and I'm questioning EVERYTHING!

I have read great reviews of it, but i just wanted to hear from some babywearing mamas.  My sister says she used it all the time, but I swear I don't recall EVER seeing her wear it.

I plan on babywearing consistantly and want to make sure I've made the best choice.  what about the ergo baby?

My 3 babies all had different favorites. Not sure if it was their bodies or their personalities, but I really feel like baby carriers get chosen by the baby, not the Mamma. So having a few options and knowing the basics of how to use them is great, but I wouldn't spend a lot or make firm choices before baby arrives. Do you have Mamma friends you could borrow from for a day or 2 just to try?

And yes, baby #2 loved the mei tei, and it was very comfy for me.

"get chosen by the baby, not the mama"  I LOVE IT!  perfect advice!!  We'll try it out and get something else if she doesn't like it!

I agree.  My #2 also loved our mei tais and it was my favorite because it was simple and versatile and made it easiest for me to get housework done with baby attached.  I wouldn't worry about having made the best choice- the best choice will be what baby likes best.  :)
