I agree 100%!  We are ready, I have nothing left to do but wait!

I am glad that the heat is going away a little - it's only going to be in the 80s here for the next few days.  I hope everyone is managing to stay comfortable!

ME TOO!  Sigh.  :(  It doesn't help that I keep having non-productive contractions all the time.  I finally broke down and cried about it - I'm so tired of the prodromal labor, it just wears me out and keeps me on edge constantly.  :(

I am thinking of those of you who are ready!  waiting is so hard.  Especially because you have no idea how long the wait is.  Hopefully you have your babies before 41 weeks, making itthat far was so hard!  Mentally and physically.  I was so freaking happy when my water broke.

Good morning, ladies!  Just checking in.  Loving the birth announcements!  As it is, nothing of note going on here.   I'm working on filling up my week with fun stuff to do- including a pedicure, which sounds so super nice and I'm really looking forward to it on Thurs.  I'm really trying to keep anxiety levels to a minimum and just enjoy this time before everything changes.  Easier said than done- I just hate the not knowing.  Other things on my agenda are re-upholstering a couple of my dining room chairs and making a huge batch of laundry soap.   39+2 today.

SO happy for the temp drop here, too!  What a difference 20 degrees makes, eh?  Going out for a nice long walk and to a park this morning, I think, and then possibly taking advantage of the cooler air to do some baking.

Goofy, prodromal labor is so exhausting.   Hang in there, mama.

Agreed, the weather is SO much nicer. It makes an enormous difference. I feel so much better!

I had a pedicure a few weeks ago, but it's growing out now and I think I may go to a cheapy place and have another one later this week. Sort of a "made it past my due date" reward. Apparently I am a total spoiled princess if one pedicure just isn't enough... ROTFLMAO.gif

Haha, scowgirl, I'm in the same boat as you with the pedicure! I got my first pedicure ever a few weeks ago, and it's starting to grow out and I'm getting tired of the bright coral color, so I'm thinking of getting a new one done. I figured it would last until the birth, and it was so nice to have it done, because my feet were in ROUGH shape. I was so embarrassed to sit around in my Bradley class with my gnarly feet hanging out of my sandals, so I finally broke down and got them done.

The weather made such a huge different yesterday, man! I'm so glad it finally cooled down for us in Iowa. Of course, my excitement at better weather was tempered a little by the fact that I've been pooping constantly for the last two days. I know this is a labor-prep thing, but sheesh. I'm not ready!

That is exactly where I am.  Little Charlee is sitting SO low in my body it literally feels like she is about to fall out!  it is SO painful.  I keep having contractions that do nothing, go nowhere.  I actually went to the birthing center on Friday after having back pain and contractions all night on thursday, only to find out that I have a UTI, and am nowhere near going into labor.

I've been on pins and needles since!!

Good luck to you Goofy.  It won't last forever!

The fetus flashed a peace sign at me during my ultrasound today. The u/s tech estimated its weight at 7lbs 5oz, give or take a half-pound. Everything looked good!

baby is all chill in there scarykarrey!  and you will be ready once labor starts, you will just know what to do and when to do it and then baby will be here.  I have felt that way three times now.  even when my third child was a week past her due date, I wanted to not be pregnant, but I wasn't ready to go through labor or have another baby to take care of!  it is all good now.

I kind of want to post a photo of my huge, huge breasts.  I tried to weighthem but the scale didn't register them.  I would guess about 4 pounds each thou.  It is insane.

Ha! I've tried to weigh my breasts before just under normal circumstances. It is really hard to do.

In other news, I keep checking in here expecting news of GoofyInOK or fruitfulmomma baby... Sheepish.gif Anyone else really really close that I am forgetting? Well, except all of us, but you know what I mean.

I should get a kitchen scale.  weighing my milk filled breasts is kind of like weighing food...

lol.  last time i had a baby, i got mastitis right after my milk came in, and it was seriously disturbing how similar my right breast looked to a stop sign- red, angular, and HUGE.

Oh man, that stinks and would probably made me smile in spite of my pain..  How are you doing tolovemercy?  We posted somewhere about feeling anxious about labor because we knew what was coming.  Hopefully your labor goes well!  Thinking about it was scarier than actually doing it.  Once it starts...it is just a matter of getting through.  BTW, my friend named her baby Ambrose last year, I can now tell her I know of another child Ambrose...

Today was my due date - & I'm still pregnant.  I woke up thinking I was leaking amniotic fluid (went in to get checked & was not).  I spent the morning thinking I was going to be induced again, & am happy that wasn't the case, but still a bit disappointed not to be having the baby yet!

Karrey - it looks like you will be delivering at UIHC - that's where my DS was born!  I thought the midwives there were great & had a good experience (except for the induction, I guess)!  Best wishes to you!

That is funny about weighing your breasts!  I'm curious to see what mine do after LO is born.  They've already grown quite a bit during pregnancy!

blumooned--OMG, are you me? I just logged on here to post something similar. Today is my due date, and I woke up feeling like something was dripping out of me. There were a couple of 2-3" spots on my underwear, so I'm waiting for them to dry to make sure it's not just the oil out of my evening primrose oil capsule, but they feel cold and wet so I think it's watery liquid of some kind. I'm 99% sure I didn't pee my pants, and it doesn't smell like urine. It's nothing like the discharge I have normally been getting, and there's more of it.

I know it's probably nothing, but I'm going to have to call the midwives' triage line, and it's such a small "sign" that I feel stupid even calling. Also, even though it's a small chance, like you I'm afraid it's going to set a chain of events in motion that I'm not comfortable with. I don't think they'll want me to come in or anything, but I am GBS+ so that is another worry. I saw a different midwife yesterday, and she stretched my cervix a bit, so I am wondering if a small puncture was put in the bag that just didn't start leaking until I laid on my side for the night. It doesn't seem to be leaking anymore... which is good, but now I'm even more confused. I have had no contractions other than B-H (unless you count a couple of really, really short ones yesterday when I had some back pain and tightness) so I know I'm not ready to go into labor yet. greensad.gif Grrr... so frustrating! I'm not even that anxious to have the baby right this second, but what kind of annoying inconclusive symptom is this?

Things are moving here, but really slowly.  Strong contractions, but they're not regular-- maybe every 20 minutes, sometimes more frequently, sometimes less.  They've been that way since Monday night.  I'm mostly just trying to make eating and sleeping my top priorities & let my body do what it needs to do to get ready.   Anxiety levels are high.

I woke up this morning to some period like bleeding although nothing mucous-y at all.  No contractions as of yet.  I have a scheduled appointment this afternoon so I'll just wait to check in with my midwife then.  Anyone else experience this?  Did labor closely follow?  I'm at work finishing up a few things just in case.  Due date is a week from today.

Iowa, I might be inclined to call your midwife about that.  Hope everything goes well at your appt today!

::hugs:: Iowa, I hope it is nothing to worry about. Has the bleeding stopped already?
