Is there any hope?

nak

DS1 is about 8 weeks corrected born at 34w IUGR barely weighing 3lbs, 5wk in NICU.

He is still not able to eat enough at breast--im triple feeding and exclusively nursing his twin sister.

Ive seen IBLC and tons of lactation help in nicu.

last week he started taking even less by breast and by bottle and has dropped to 7 feeds/day.  he falls asleep or screams at bottle. hard to keep him awake at breast.  i have to wake him to eat.

i dont know what to do to get him to breast full time. im driven to tears and feeling hopeless.  everyone says he will do better when hes stronger but thats not happening.  hes 9.5lbs now. i want this so badly for us. ;-(

hug2.gif  I've got no advice, but lots of support coming your way.  Hopefully some of our wonderful members who have struggled with this sort of thing will be helpful.
