Hi everyone. Just looking for a little advice. We had a midwife appointment today and everything went great until our MW listened to the baby's heartbeat. It was skipping a beat and halting a beat. It was very strange. We have never heard any problems with this babe's heart before so I'm not sure what to think. Our midwife had me get up and walk around (to change up the baby's position) and things sounded much more normal. Baby's heart still skipped every once in awhile, but our mw said it was no longer out of the ordinary. I did drink some black tea tis morning, which I typically don't do and wonder if the caffeine could have had an adverse effect?! She is going to call a couple other midwifes and the cardiologist to get some second opinions before we schedule an ultrasound. She also told me I could come in tomorrow or Wednesday to have another listen. We had an anatomy scan at 20 weeks and the heart was perfectly normal.
Has anyone had any experience similar to this? Would you schedule and ultrasound right away or would you wait? I don't feel frantic (baby moves around great and everything else has been fine), but I am a bit worried. Any advice would be helpful.
