My OB said to just put a small towel folded up (maybe 2 inches high) under one hip and that should offset it enough.  I actually could sleep quite comfortably on my back that way for a long time.  I still am finding it completely comfortable to sleep on my back and stomach at this point.  Can't remember when it changed with the last 2.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!  I am heading to monterey to get out of the 115 degree heat in the central valley (CA).  It is supposed to be 65 all weekend!  I may very well cheat and get my artichoke dip since I won't be back to monterey in at least a few months and I am still craving it like crazy!

My food aversions are driving me crazy right now!  (I'm 12 weeks today).  I'm slowly getting over the morning sickness (very slowly - but I'm definitely getting better not worse now), but the list of foods I can't bear to look at is increasing exponentially!  I can't stand tomato sauces, peas, some cheeses, rice (!), peanut butter cookies, beef, lamb, chicken, pork, beans, green peppers... the list goes on but I'm making myself sick thinking about it.  Anything that I eat when I'm feeling really sick gets chalked up on the food aversion list.  Meal times are torture and my snacks are getting more and more unhealthy (I can still eat ice cream!).  I remember some of my food aversions lasting well past first tri with my first pregnancy, I couldn't eat black eyed peas for at least a year after DD was born.  I'm just praying that I can eat healthy again here in a few weeks!  Anyone with bad food aversions starting to get over them now that your MS is gone?  Please say yes!

Yes!

I also had 2 aversions during my first pg that I had to avoid for at least a year.

This time around, as the ms has decreased, the food aversions are almost gone completely. Let me also say that very unhealthy snacking got me through a couple of really rough weeks and now I'm back to eating healthy foods and haven't bought a bag of Doritos in a few weeks. smile.gif

Afm, I think I've got a little stomach bug, or maybe my colitis is acting up a bit. But I've been feeling really lousy in the stomach and gut area for 2 days. Tired also and headaches so I'm hoping it's just a bug. Resting today and shamelessly enjoying a show on Hulu.

Also, I have been so cranky lately. I don't know what is going on.... gaps dirt or pregnancy hormones.... I am so short with the kids... I feel terrible. Any hints? I have never been so moody in pregnancy.

maybe you need more carbs?  i've done a variation of GAPS during pregnancy, but found i needed more fruits, sweeteners (honey and maple syrup are what we have in house) (so made myself sorbets w/ frozen fruit, a touch of vanilla, and a hint of sweetener, and often lime juice), and starches!  i couldn't give up potatoes or other starches for more than 3 days without having mood/stability issues.  i think little ones need that extra starch, and sometimes squash would do it, or roasted root veggies, but potatoes always helped me straighten out.  also have made sure to just tell the kids i'm tired and lay down whenever that urge hits.  i sometimes lay down in the same room, or while they're resting, but pregnancy always takes me out hard first trimester!

enjoy monterey!

we never figure out gender b/c DH says no way.  i always want to know, but since i don't do ultrasounds now, it's easier to not find out....

My MS is totally gone, but for some reason a really dry hotel breakfast english muffin made me gag when I put it to my lips a couple of weeks ago. Now the thought of english muffins is SO gross to me. I usually have a couple of food aversions during pregnancy. Eggs were totally out with DS1 and I've never completely embraced them since. Although recently I've started craving egg noodles so who knows.

It's great to see all these baby pictures. smile.gif

I had a truly terrifying bleeding episode early this morning. Woke up at 2 and passed a big clot, about the size of a deck of cars. Had fairly heavy bleeding off and on until around 8. Decided to wait until morning to go to triage and be checked out. Was so grateful nurse found baby's heartbeat right away with doppler. They checked me out thoroughly and say it seems that at some point I bled, but no idea when or why. Today my body was getting rid of the old blood. But out doesn't seem to have affected the baby, and my cervix and placenta both look fine. It was reassuring to hear that and to see baby grabbing her toes and moving all around, but I'm still afraid for what might happen. For now I'll take it easy for a few days and just go from there. I will be so glad when I can feel this baby move. It's very reassuring.

And, the heartburn has arrived :(

OMG jenifera! You must have had a heart attack when you saw that clot. I am so glad that everything is okay! hug2.gif Your avatar pic is so adorable!! I LOVE the hat heartbeat.gif

I hope everything continues to be okay Jenifer. What a scare!

Thanks everyone. Yes, the clot was horrible to see/feel. I was sure it was the baby when I felt it coming out. So far, everything seems OK. I've never felt the need for a home doppler before, even with a miscarriage before my daughter, but now I'm renting one for a few months. Until I can regularly feel this baby move, I need the reassurance. It's hard to let go of the fear after a scare like that.

My food aversions were the worst week 8-10. I'm Week 12 now and finding it's more food smells than tastes that are the issue and that also is getting a bit better day by day. Fingers crossed! I adore indian food and I just can't deal with it right now.

Yesterday the trips to the bathroom were all made worth it by a ton of movement at bedtime. :)

Sore boob tonight.

Imakcerka- That's great! Im so excited for you!

Chocomom- check in :) How are you doing?

How is everyone? I've been suffering from headache day # FIVE. Insanity. Im drinking TONS of water, some caffeine, and taking tylenol. Im ready to just take an excedrin and call it! Im so done with it. Also, has anyone tried Annie's Cheesy Ravioli in the can? It's so freaking delicious.

I've had bad headaches the last week or so. I think it's been allergies combined with pregnancy. But five days-- ugh!! Maybe ibuprofen... would one dose really hurt? I wonder what class of drug it is during pregnancy. Last night I had a bad one and found some relief by rubbing eucalyptus, rosemary and lavender essential oils on my temples/scalp/neck.

Sorry about the headaches mamas. I don't get them often, but when I do, miserable....

I feel like I have some pulled muscles in my lower pelvis area. Hurting to turn and twist.

Dd2 turns 2 next Monday so we are having a bday party for her on Sunday. She picked out Dora plates.... too cute. She is also potty training, and doing really well. Still having accedents sometimes and wearing diapers at night.

I went to Target today to get some baby boy clothes and picked up a set of 3 dinosaur sleepers (dd1 LOVES dinosaurs). I also got a coupon for 20% off at Crazy 8 and I got 2 outfits for 18-24 months, a winter outfit for 3-6 months and a summer outfit for 6-12 months. I am trying to guess how big he is going to be and how fast he is going to grow...
Both girls were right around 10 lbs at birth and around 15 lbs at 2 months... dd2 stalled out there and is.around 24 lbs at 2 years while dd2 was 20 lbs at 4 months and stayed at around 24 for a long while.

I am trying to figure what I should expect.

I've also been dealing with on/off headaches this last week.  So not fun.  Also drinking lots of water during the day.  Sometimes eating helps the headache, other times nothing seems to help.

And today my eyes are SO dry!!!!

Starting to feel more movement which is really fun and DH got really excited last night when I told him baby was moving around.  Mostly when I sit down.

Thanks for asking Adaline'sMama :)  I have been MIA little bit.

17 weeks and 1 day.. I've officially never been this pregnant before.  I lost my little boy at 17 weeks last December so this is a real 'mental milestone' for me.

Doctor wants me to get an US to check my cervical length since my loss was in the 2nd tri so will be scheduling that soon - hoping they can tell me the gender then too and that I won't have to wait til the official anatomy scan.  My vomiting has been sporadic, got my Zofran prescription filled again, as I didn't like some of the side effects I'd read about re the other med doc prescribed.  Some days worshipping at the porcelain throne 2-3 times, some days none.  It's getting better, just slowly I suppose.  I just pray I'm not one of the HG mamas that suffer right until they give birth! My lower back and hips are still feeling a little bit 'looser' than usual, Relaxin doing its thing I guess.  I'm fatigued alot again now which I'm thinking means baby is about to have a growth spurt or is currently having one.

I mentioned when I first started posting that things weren't going so great between me and DH - I'm happy to say that we are in SUCH a better place now, despite some financial difficulties, we are getting along really well, he felt the baby kick for the first time a couple of nights back and is really embracing the idea that we are going to be parents now, kissing and rubbing my belly (I def have a bump now!) and continuing to get me whatever food is flavor of the day, lol.

Wishing you all good days!

Glad that you and DH are in a better place, Chocomom.

I'm 17 weeks today (woohoo!). Still feeling tired, but I haven't thrown up in 2 weeks. My food aversions are all seafood. We usually eat salmon at least 1x a week, so this is really put a dent in my meal planning.

I'm going to do prenatal yoga this weekend. The first time I've done yoga in about a year. Is anyone else doing any yoga?
