Imacerka~ Where are you? What's been going on?

Jess- so cute!

I am anxiously awaiting my next US (Aug 20), where I will find out the sex (if babes cooperate!)

Had my second mw appetite yesterday. All looks good. Baby had a hr of 150 and mw said it was lower before she srltarted counting.... so maybe a mellow baby? We were set on finding out the gender, but suddenly I don't want to know. Maybe I can convince dh not to find out....

Also, I have been so cranky lately. I don't know what is going on.... gaps dirt or pregnancy hormones.... I am so short with the kids... I feel terrible. Any hints? I have never been so moody in pregnancy.

well, I am 14 weeks 2 days (according to my new due date of Feb 4th) and still feeling pretty crappy. I had a few good days last week, so I thought it was *over* but no.

we decided that, instead of being surprised at the birth as to baby's gender like we originally planned, we will find out at our 18 week ultrasound. I need something exciting/positive to look forward to in this pregnancy, and something to connect me to this baby other than nausea/fatigue, constipation, an ongoing yeast infection, and on and off sciatica pain. :/

Sorry for the downer post. I just want to feel better. :(

Ugh...I thought it was just me! (or the fact that I'm so old) Still feel really crappy - so tired, can't get anything done, house is a mess, laundry piling up, zero energy. Also, still have nausea - although it has definitely improved. Feel achy all over - back, legs, hips. Lots of headaches lately. Feel really irritable and depressed today, don't feel like talking to anyone - just want to lay on the couch. Anyone else having trouble sleeping? I just can't get comfortable and I am tossing and turning all night, up every hour or two. Took Benadryl last night but it didn't help. Sorry so full of complaints! Just needed to vent a little angry.gif

2nd OB appt today.  Had a tiny bit of blood in my urine.  OB is getting it cultured, but thinks I have a UTI and prescribed antibiotics.  Apparently if UTI is untreated and worsens during pregnancy it can affect the kidneys and cause complications.  14 weeks today with a new EDD on Feb 6th.  I like my OB doc, she's nice, but (although its veryy early) I am thinking about employing a doula also.

Still suffering with the nausea  vomiting, negotiating each day by eating constantly (well thats how it feels) and taking my Zofran.  I have fine bumps all over my face, noticed a couple of days ago.

Hubby says he has a feeling this is a girl, I have no idea yet.  A small part of me wants to be surprised, but its only a small part and I know he wants to know so I guess only I few weeks til we can find out!

Tired most of the time, and watching the fit toned bodies of the Olympians is making me miss my more active, fit jogging bunny days.  Ah well, soon enough.

I'm here!!!  I've been checking in.  How are you feeling?  I bought a doppler and was able to find the hb right away.  My girls were excited.  Now they keep asking if they can hear bb's hb.  My next Appt is next week.  So we'll scedule the U/S then.  I want to find out soooooooooooooooooo bad!

Checking in... Three more days till I hit week 12. Been feeling great now except for the odd twinge of ligaments doing their thing. I'm beyond happy that I can now be in a moving vehicle for a whole 10 minutes before I get motion sick. I'm no longer under house arrest! Still at my pre-pregnancy weight and not showing but I heard that's normal for the first though my tummy is tender and my tighter compression running pants and shorts are really yuck to wear now. Just that bit of pressure makes me nauseous. I find it really interesting to see how my body feels each week. Some positions and exercises are great one day and terrible the next. Apparently starting next week I'm not allowed to exercise or sleep on my back anymore? That's going to be challenging. When it's this hot I don't really like being on my side.

Next week already?  I'm between 13 and 14 weeks and I am still totally sleeping on my back if I feel like it. I've read elsewhere that a lot of doctors don't think it should cause any issues until after 20 weeks. Even then, I think the most accurate measure of if it's safe is how it feels for you; my understanding is that you'll start to feel lightheaded if it's a problem. Chances are, by 20ish weeks you just won't feel comfortable on your back. Anyone else have ideas about when the cut off for back sleeping is?

Yeah, what rachieface said.  I'm still back sleeping most nights, but I usually wake up on my side (or belly).

About the back sleeping thing....i have never head of an official stop date (not that that means anything), but for me, it always gets uncomfortable at a certain point and that is the end.of that (like a boulder laying on my belly uncomfortable. I will wake up from the pressure if i flip to my back)(the discomforts of my last pregnancy are still fairly.vivid, plus i am starting to get that suffocating feeling already).

I've had a few days of extreme fatigue again, along with nausea and having to eat more often.  Just when it was starting to look up!  Must mean the baby is doing some growing or something? I wake up every 2-3 hours at night too, which makes it hard not to be tired!

I am 12w 5d and just had my first ultrasound today!!  Here is the little nugget:

I've heard 20 weeks as the cutoff for back sleeping--- but I'd also just listen to my body and do what's comfortable.

I'm already 14.5 weeks. How did that happen!? We've been busy with a house move and vacation so time has been flying by, which is nice. My only pregnancy complaint is not being able to eat due to "fullness" and possibly constipation. I can eat breakfast and lunch, but then am still too full HOURS later to eat dinner. Sometimes I can eat around 10 before bed. It's really annoying because I want to eat... I just can't or else I'll feel horribly full and bloated. I've never had this issue with my other pregnancies and hope it goes away.

I've been wondering about the back sleeping thing, too, and am not looking forward to sleeping on my sides.  I end up with some pretty good shoulder pain when I sleep on my sides, so even when I try to do it I wake up on my back at some point.  It's still comfy for me to be on my back but I know that'll change some time soon.  Will have to get creative with lots of pillows and may have to move over to the wall to sleep with my back up against it for support.

Oh...I'm so glad we're talking about the back thing! I thought I was the only one. I cannot stand sleeping on my side. No matter what I do with creative pillow-ing, I always end up flat on my back. Plus I am having so much trouble sleeping. I wake up every hour or so all night long with back pain, hip pain, shoulder pain - just can't seem to get comfortable. Was almost considering buying a new mattress or at least a fancy mattress topper.

Back sleeping is potentially harmful because the heavy uterus puts pressure on the major blood vessel that supplies the lower half of the body. It could restrict blood flow to the placenta and decrease blood supply and oxygen to the baby. guilty.gif

my former OB and my midwife both said back sleeping was fine as long as it is comfortable... for me, at some point i end up putting a pillow (and not a flat one, a bigger one or something firm like a boppy) under one hip so i'm not flat on my back and i sleep that way most of my pregnancies.. so i'm not on my shoulder or my hip, or my back.. cause i have hip/shoulder issues when i get further along trying to sleep on my side..

i will be 14 weeks monday and i've felt MUCH better this week.. i've been way overdoing it, and still not feeling sick,  tired - yes. but not sick.. and i've been able to eat more normal things.. still can't cook them, but i can eat them.
