Too much amniotic fluid- polyhydramnios...

Was sent by midwife for a sono at 32 weeks, and they found that i have a bit too much amniotic fluid...5-25cm is normal and I'm at 25 1/2...I was wondering if anyone has also gone through this and what the outcome was?

No other issues with baby were observed, i.e. baby not processing/swallowing properly, so I'm trying not to freak out, but have a tendency to read all the worst case scenarios like cord prolapse and what not...I just want to enjoy the rest of this pregnancy but am struggling to do so!

Thanks for any info mamas:)

This happened to me but started about 35 weeks.  I can't remember the exact numbers but I was just above the high end.  I had the USs and the biophysical profiles.  I ended up delivering close to 42 weeks (I was extremely enormous - like measuring close to 50 weeks).

The only issue was that the baby never dropped because there was so much fluid to bounce around in.

I was in early labor for 36 hours and only got 1.5cm with contrax 3-5 minutes apart.

My MW admitted me and I had a Pit drip for for a very short time.  During which I got to 2cm.

The rest was on my own, I just needed a little push.  The baby was totally perfect (and weighed 10#5).

It was random, my first 2 pregnancies were totally fine.

Thanks for the post- I will be headed back next week to measure again- MW was saying it could lead to induction if it increases or makes me extremely uncomfortable- but oddly I feel physically better now than I have all pregnancy! Nice to hear all turned out well:)
