When I had ds at the hospital the would cut open one end of a newborn diaper and fill it with ice and tape it shut again. That was awesome for the first few days.

I just read something about making your own ice packs- they suggested filling a condom or rubber glove with a solution of 4 parts water 1 part alcohol so it freezes into a slush and is more comfortable than a solid block of ice in your pants. and remember to wrap that in flannel so you don't freeze yourself!

I found a large selection of adult type diapers on amazon for anyone who doesn't want their regular checkers to see them buying depends! even some of the cheaper brands have very good reviews.
