Not getting email notifications

Lately (the past week or two) I haven't been getting email notifications when there are new posts to my subscribed threads.  I checked my subscription settings and nothing has changed.  Any idea what the problem is?

So I'm the only one?  Or maybe all the other people who aren't getting them aren't coming here because they think no one is posting anything to the threads they're interested in, so they didn't see this thread.


Anyway, do you have any suggestions of things I can do to try to fix the problem?

I haven't received any other reports about it. 


I received a notification of your reply to my post so the system is working. I'll test your account to see if the problem is a delivery issue.

I set your account's email to mine and received this notification of my post above soon after it was posted:




So I think the mail delivery issue is with your ISP. Check your Spam/Junk folder to make sure Mothering emails are not landing there. If not then the only thing I can suggest is to contact your ISP to ask if they have some block on emails that would prevent delivery. I will also ask our tech support to try to trace the delivery of our emails to you to see if they can find anything.

One of the first things I did when I noticed the problem was check my junk mail folder to see if they were ending up there, but they weren't.  I just tried changing the email address in my profile to see if that makes a difference.  I'll see if I get a notification for this thread now.

I haven't gotten a notification for the update I made to this thread, but maybe you don't get notifications for your own posts.  I can't remember if I usually do or not.

Okay, I just got an email notification for another thread.  So changing the email address seems to have helped for some reason.  I don't know why, because I had been successfully getting notifications at the other email address for years.  Maybe at some point I'll try changing it back as an experiment.

I have not received e-mail notifications either. I think I have received them when I first started but only a few. They are not in my junk mail either. I don't have another e-mail address. I was asking for daily. I will try immediately.

Glad your issue is resolved by the email change! :)


Lenore, I can test your account but if we find that I receive your notification you will need to change your email address or try to resolve it with Yahoo. Would you like me to test it?

I changed it from Daily Notification to Notifying Immediately. That seems to have worked. I received two so far. We'll see how it goes. Thanks.
