Not unless you're full term and looking to take home a baby, that is!
Monday afternoon I had this bright idea to stand on the kitchen chair to open up the kitchen window. I'm short, the window is up high, and DH wasn't around. Well, as it turns out, the chair slid out from under me (backwards) and I fell, smacking my belly on the kitchen counter on the way down. I was sore and felt bruised and my contractions picked up, so I went into L&D just to monitor baby and make sure she was fine.
I was put on the monitor, which showed I was contracting quite frequently. Not regularly by any means, but frequently. They weren't going to check my cervix, but I'm glad I asked them to. I'm 1cm dilated and not very happy with that.. I'm 30 weeks along. I was sent home on 24 hours bed rest, and am just not allowed to lift anything heavy or do anything strenuous. Fun, because today is my day off and I'm in full-on nesting/laundry mode!
Anyways, I go back in on Friday morning for my prenatal. I'm going to ask that my cervix be checked one more time, since I'm still contracting fairly strongly and I've been having a lot of cramping and back pain. Wish us luck?
