Hahaha-- I am cleaning pee off everything. It's not going well at all. Maybe I'll try a sticker chart? She's in this "NO" stage right now. She says NO even when she means YES. faint.gif

It's weird right? It's making me want to stay indoors and do NOTHING!

Yay go team RED!

I decided to keep up a food/workout log at Mark's Daily Apple, in case anyone cares to read it!

I'm so excited for Monday. I worked out so hard this week and had a hard week.

Yay team Red!

Today was supposed to be a long run day, but I couldn't sleep last night, so I switched it to tomorrow and ran 3.3 miles on the treadmill instead.  It's probably better that way because tomorrow is my anniversary and I know I'll go over calories with dinner.

MarieP - Happy Anniversary!! How many years???

Today is my birthday. I'm over WW points, and I don't care.  :)  And I haven't even had my birthday cake yet. And I'm going out for a beer with friends in a bit. biggrinbounce.gif  I'll be doing a rum tomorrow for sure tho. LOL

MarieP - happy anniversary!

Dmitrizmom - happy birthday!!!!

I hope you both had a great celebration!

Milk - Thanks for asking!  Still waiting to hear back on the most recent labs and still not quite myself, although my energy is going up (which I attribute to the sugar detox, so who knows!)

I am glad to be finished shoveling dirt for the time being, but I am hoping there is some pay off on the scales.  I got up and started shoveling again at 5 am this morning, so I ended up running out of time for my scheduled long run.  I plan on doing it tomarrow morning, seeing as tomarrow was supposed to be a shoulders/back/arms workout, I am hoping 2 days of shoveling dirt is better than the 30 minutes of weights I would have put in . . . feels like an ok trade to me :)

Here is the updated chart with teams.  I have not seen any posts by triscuitsmom - do we have a start weight for her?  Or maybe I missed it?

Hi Ladies,

What a fun supportive thread! I did the 23k HURL Elkhorn trail race today!  Woo hoo!  Super excited and ready to sign up for another one!

Hit my exercise goals for the week!  Now, I just have to get back on track with my eating cause I took yesterday/today off in preparation for the race.

Thanks Ladies!

And Tillymonster - it was 2 beers, but at 7% and how little I drink, they packed a punch.  I am such a light weight! *snort!

tnh2007 - congrats on your race!!! so jealous/scared/thrilled about that distance!  terrified to do a 10K, let alone a 23k... but my goal for next year is a half marathon.  ROTFLMAO.gif

That is awesome!!!  My next race is a 5K (and the longest I have ever done is a 10K), but I am hoping to start building up to longer distances soon.  I am very impressed!  Do you have to take some extra days off of running after doing that kind of distace or do you just carry on with your training schedule?

You will do great!  I never saw myself being a runner, but slowly it seems like I love it more and more.  So, I just keep signing up for races to keep my motivation high!  Do you have a certain 10K in mind?

Thanks lady!  I trained really hard for this run, so I am not really sore.  My ankles are a little stiff cause it was a really rough trail though.  I may take today off, but probably will resume as normal on Monday.  There is an eight mile trail run right outside of town next Saturday so I might do that one too.  After that I really don't know what I'm up to so I probably will drop mileage.  I don't normally run this far unless I have a reason.

When is your 5K?  I'm sure you will do awesome...  you will have to keep us updated!

tnh2007 - We have a local festival the first weekend in September that has both a 5K and a 10K... I've done the 5K for the last couple years in a row, but am pondering the 10K this year (and thinking I'm nuts).  I'd really like to do a sprint tri the weekend after that, but I need a different bike to ride.

tnh2007 congrats on your 23K.  That's awesome!  I love trail runs.  I am training for a half in Sept, and i actually prefer it to the big Pittsburgh half.

BarefootMama: When's your 5K?

Dmitrizmom: Try the 10K.  You can do it!

My 5K is sept 15th.  I am looking at doing a 5 or 10 K in the winter, and we have an awesome 10K here in charleston in april, so I want to shoot for that.  I want to race about every 3 months or so - any more than that is outside the budget, and less than that and not enough motivation.  After the 10K I am considering setting my sights on a 1/2 marathon or a marathon next fall/winter, which is exciting and for someone who's current long runis 4 miles, it seems a little crazy to consider at all.

After reading all these great posts about 5-10K's, I am ashamed to say I had the worst diet day ever .

I actually recorded it on MFP and saw it was even worse than I thought. redface.gif

I have been feeling down the past couple of weeks and I believe that is part of my poor eating.

But, on a good note, I did get out and move a bit today.  Being down, I have had very little energy and not much sleep.  Today we went for a ten mile bike ride...very leisurely (we stopped at two parks and stopped for ice cream bag.gif).  But at least I moved a bit - it felt good.  In the spring we were biking 10-15 miles once or twice a week (my children were only seven so any further and they might not make it back.)  But it has been such a hot summer that I lost my desire to exercise outside.  I am hoping we have cooler temps going forward and there will be more biking - with less park stops and no ice cream stops!

A nice bike ride sounds fantastic, good for you!  I was really unmotivated to run or walk or anything except for play with my kids today...  and by the way, I wrapped up a decent day of eating with pizza and chocolate cookies...  irked.gif  Whoops!  Oh, and the worst part was that it didn't even taste that great.

Yay RED TEAM!  Today's check in..... 166.5 - 2.2lb loss!  Yay me!!

I'm sad to say that it could have been more, and I did weigh less earlier in the week, but suspect I undid some of my hard word on Saturday!

I'm signed up to do my first 5km on Sept 2.  Somewhat scared.  Might need the Monday off work to recover!

Weird question: why do you guys talk miles for everything, but seemingly your marathons/races are in kilometres?  I have a hard time with the conversions as it is!
