The 8 week healthy weight loss challenge 4.0 (started 7/30, enrolling through 8/4) - Page 12

Maaaaan. AF is coming (taking her sweet time too!) and I just knew the scale wouldn't budge. Plus... this heat wave... UGH. It's 95+ every day and was during the weekend too. Just going outside feels like work in that kind of oppressive heat! I didn't exercise like I should have. I ate pizza and drank too much over the weekend. But back on track today and the rest of the week so help me...

Stuck at 183 for another week.  I kicked up my diet plan this morning and am tracking calories very closely for a week.  I am going to force that scale down one way or another.

Just now getting caught up on the previous posts. Milk- I'm so glad your scan went okay and your kidney function is normal. How scary! Strange about the 3 kilos, though!

Milk - am glad all is looking well with your kidney!!

Stupid question - what does AF stand for?  I realize y'all are refering to menstration, but for the life of me I can't think of a term for menstration that could be abbreviated AF.  I have been curious about this for a while, but I feel very silly asking . . .

AFM - I had a pretty horrible week, weight wise.  It has been a LONG, sleepless week with the littlest lady of the house doing her up 5+ times per night routine, both being extra needy during the day (younger is tired, older has a GI bug) and hubby being grumbly about work related stress.  I tend to hold on to weight like crazy when I am not getting enough sleep, and I am a bit on the constipated side.  All leaving me at 178.6 (up 3 from last week).  I am hoping some of that will go away when I get things moving again.

The good news is that I have kept up with my workouts, and I trimmed my 4 mile PR by 2 minutes on saturday.

So I am hoping next week will look a bit better on the scale!!

150.2! I'm determined to be in the 140's next week :p

Here is what I have thus far.  We are still missing roughly 1/3 of the weigh-ins, so I will repost as the remaining numbers are reported. As always, let me know if I missed you or mis-typed your numbers :)

Does it stand for "aunt flow"?  I'm not really sure so we will see what others post!

Good job on the PR!!!  That is great news and 2 minutes is definitely somthing to be proud of!

I'm at 151 this morning!  Down 1 lb!  :)

I did my 8 mile trail race on Saturday and came in 2nd top female finisher!!!!  I was stoked and really felt like all of my hard work and running has paid off.  However, I can't help but feel like I could do better if I would lose some weight.  But, I'm trying not to be a spaz and still feed my body what it needs to keep training.  Next I have some major trail runs in a couple weeks and then a half marathon in September!

Great job ladies and GO TEAM!!! :)

Barefootmama - AF stands for Aunt Flo.  My mom used to always call it "your little friend".  Yeah, not so much.

I have renamed AF, in my circle of IRL friends, as "Shark Week"..... duck.gif biglaugh.gif

That makes sense!!  I should have figured that one out :)  My mother used the term "monthly visitor"

I LOVE it!!!!!!  That is great!

I have always used the increadibly non-creative term - period.  As weird as it may sound, I can't wait to get mine back!  I have had 2 periods since May 2008 . . . . pregnancies and lactation and what not.  I just don't feel like myself when I am not cycling.  I hope this is not what post-menepausal women feel like!

Hahahahaha shark week! That is GREAT. Guess a good few of us have synced cycles, mine is coming soon... taking it's sweet time though. Spotting for days now... Annoying hormonal issues! Sorry, TMI huh?

My apologies red team...227.2.  Sorry I missed weigh in yesterday....not a whole lot of sleep going on here... DD was diagnosed with hand foot and mouth disease and there has been a lot of screaming and crying I am guessing from the sores in her throat.  This mama needs a vacation.  I haven't been logging my calories on MFP because I am too ashamed of how over I have been. I need a serious kick in the ass!

Shark Week is awesome! =D

My mother called it PMSing. It was the grand, end all, be all, magic bullet excuse for any mind bogglingly cruel, angry, or rude behavior she could imagine. Mostly to store clerks or waitresses. When referring to other people (male or female!!!) it was said like it tasted bad in her mouth, and was the most demeaning of insults she could give.

I've gone the uber scientific route. I try to call everything by the correct terms, and talk about them openly. Even my teenage son is relatively comfortable asking about and discussing menstrual issues, so I'm pleased with the results. I've always wished I could see it as the cool kind of spiritual process that so many other women seem to, though. It would be really great to pass that ideal and attitude down to my daughter. It's really just another bodily function to me though. *shrug*

Bridesmother here - last weeks number should read 179.8  This week's number is 179.8 as well.

Still haven't done anything about my scales, but I weighed on another set, and it says same as last week.  Maybe I need a new scale altogether.  Please just list me as 166.5, and I will hope that is accurate.

Oh, and I love shark week, I think I might steal that.  I only use AF cause everyone here does.  My OH refers to it as the "Red River of Rage".

Glad to see all of you working through this!  I have FINALLY gotten serious (moment of clarity, 80% of my wardrobe does not FIT me!  and I refuse to shop, I will work at this)  Next challenge around I'd love to be a part of it.  What was killing me before was being great during the week, and blowing it on the weekends (being lazy, take-out, socializing, ahem, imbibing I mean.....)  I am determined now and can't wait for the next challenge!  In the meantime, hang in there sisters!!
