The 8 week healthy weight loss challenge 4.0 (started 7/30, enrolling through 8/4) - Page 13

Love the shark week analogy with photos.  Too funny.

Yesterday was crazy at work.  Today looks to be more of the same with our new principal and a couple new teachers and school registration and meetings.....so I went to do my circuit training before going to school today, otherwise it might not happen at all.  Thirty minute workout, but man I wish I could have had 2 more hours of sleep.

I think getting exercise is going to be a whole lot easier now that the kids are back in school. I decided we needed to walk instead of drive, and it took us 15 minutes to get there. Perfect, that's 30 minutes for me already! And it's nice in the morning right now, felt great. Baby loved the fresh air.

Now I just need to get my mind wrapped around the fact that my oldest started 4th grade this morning. He's kind of growing up on me a little faster than I want...

146.2 this morning. just looking at my stats from last week; that's three pounds in a week (maybe more) if i can keep it up till monday morning.

i'm back to not eating after 5 pm.

i can have what i want (even a small treat) early in the day, but am doing i guess what is called "intermittent fasting" after 5 pm. it works.

i just read some scientific evidence that correlates with the success of this "diet" approach. it has to do with burning fat instead of burning sugar.

if you quit eating (and don't eat ANYTHING, not even a small piece of fruit) by a certain hour, your body will metabolize what you've eaten, and then have no more sugar to "run on". while you sleep, during those hours, your body will burn off its fat to keep going. because there is no sugar in your body, it got used up by like 10-11 pm.

i feel hungry at night. but i know that's good hunger, as i am still trying to lose.

mostly wearing 2 pairs of the same capri pants this summer (they were VERY reduced pairs of trousers, with an adjustable waist, i figured out it could be useful if i lost weight ... i picked two and cut out part of the legs on them)

=> this morning one was hard to do up, SO am now dreading tomorrow's weigh in ...

DH washed a favorite pair of shorts with a weird elastic belt in it.  Well, in the dryer, the belt got caught on something and completely pulled out of the shorts.  I had to use my sewing machine to try and get the waist band to stay where it is supposed to and not fall off my bum.  Told DH this morning "no waffles for me, I want to be less than last week's weigh in" so we ate a little better for breakfast than we often do on weekends.  Hoping for a good weigh in tomorrow.

Ugh this weekend was terrible! I ate pizza on Friday night at BJs Brewery, then cheeseburgers/fries on Saturday. Atleast I had a salad for lunch. Then for dinner? A burger and fries. And ranch dressing... An no workouts to speak of. Except for carrying my 2.5yo for a nap for like 2 hours... oooh. I'm going to gain, I know it!

This next week needs to go better!!!

169.4  Oh, the shame!

Sorry team! I don't think I've had a week this bad since the challenge kicked off.  I think the last time I was this bad was Christmas.

I definitely used my birthday as an excuse to go crazy.  I still ate good meals, but I had dessert nearly every night, and boy did I snack!

It didn't help that I did a cupcake fundraiser for the RSPCA today, and spent the whole of yesterday baking (and tasting).

Well, I have been 244.8 pounds for 3 days.  I was hoping this morning I would drop down below last weeks weigh in , but no luck.  Probably tomorrow my decent eating and exercise with catch up with me.  Today is the first day of teaching school again.  I have to keep up my exercise regimen to keep myself on track and feeling good.

Finally moving in the right direction. Did a lot of cardio this week and not much eating.

133.8 this morning.  I had been in the 133s all week and then I had an extra beer with dinner last night.  I thought my long run would have made up for it, but I must have over indulged.

Moving a lot slower than I want to, but the weight is going down.

I'm maintaining, but not losing... not sure what my problem is with these last 4 lbs.

170 again.

I'm sort of disgusted with myself, even though this was a really rough week.  My mom fell and broke her wrist (she has surgery today), so I've been running back and forth between our houses helping her.  I didn't do too badly with my eating and exercising, but I've had lots of iced mochas...  On the positive side, I was able to run a bit this week.  thumb.gif

187 today. Very very little follow-through on my part this week. I'm working on having protein for breakfasts and snacks this week. It really helps me stay full longer!

Yay! 137.2 this morning. I've been trying to get here for 4 years.~My pre-pregnancy weight with my last child~ (This is big for me)   I really think kicking in the extra exercises are what's doing it for me.

167.5 today :( But the planned pigout at the Renaissance Festival was really fun. I'm thinking it's mostly water from the salty food ;)

148.2

Down almost 2lbs since last week! I wasn't sure what my weigh in was going to bring this week. I haven't exercised at all, but have been really good about portion size and limiting myself to a few bites when I slip up and eat something I shouldn't. I also started progesterone cream for my PCOS a couple days ago. I've been having some pretty nasty symptoms and it's putting me through the wringer a little bit, but I'm seeing improvement already. I have a tiny secret hope that as my hormones come into balance, the weight will melt off with ease...kind of like it came on when they went out of balance! lol I don't really expect it to work like that, but wouldn't it be nice? =D

183 again!!!!!   I really should be thankful that I am not gaining...I have been eating like a horse.  My baby is nursing around the clock and teething something awful.  My appetite is enormous and I just can't get my calorie intake much lower.  I focus on good food and am simply riding out this tough patch.
