Hi Dr. Sears,
My son, newly 4 years old, received PC vaccine at 3 months old, resulting in intense, inconsolable crying all day/evening, ice cold hands, and vomiting for a month following the vaccine. When we introduced solid foods around 6 months, he had a reaction to rice cereal, which included hot, red sandpaper cheeks and diaper rash. We did not proceed with further PC doses. He is smart/active, but we are still working with him on potty training, with constipation issues following the Hep B series (not sure whether this is linked or not).
We now have a daughter, almost a year old, and we have held off on the PC vaccine so far. We were thinking of one dose, by itself, at her one year appointment; or one dose at two years old; or whether, considering my son's adverse reaction, we should not risk it.
Please let me know your thoughts. Thank you.
