Not a Lot of Kicks?

Is anyone else NOT feeling a lot of kicks/baby movement?  I *have* felt the baby move plenty of times, but it's not as much as I would prefer.  Sometimes a whole day will go by without me feeling anything.  I'm only 20 weeks and 4 days, and a first time mom, so I know it's not "bad," but it does make me nervous.  Anyone else?

My entire first pregnancy was like this. My midwife told me it could be 25-28 weeks before I was feeling movement on a regular basis. Every baby is different and every pregnancy is different. If you feel like its been too long since you've felt the baby move, your care provider should be glad to have you come in any time for a check with the Doppler for reassurance. Also, feeling nervous about it is normal. Hugs!

Sometimes I find it's just that I'm so busy, I'm not aware of it.  If you've got a lot going on in your life - then I'll bet you're just missing the movements.  Every once in a while I'll clue in and think "oh, wow, she's moving around" and I would normally have missed it.  Maybe that's part of it?

I had a trip to L&D Tuesday night because I hadn't felt any movement for over 12 hours.  Turns out the girls were facing each other and moving lots, just not kicking me.  My midwife says you know your babies, if you feel something is different call, that is what they are there for.

at 20 weeks that's totally normal.  You'll be surprised by how much more you're feeling in a few more weeks.  Could you have an anterior placenta?  I have that and it causes me to feel less movement than in previous pregnancies.

I've got posterior placentas, and that tends to make the babe(s) I've got kick inwards. So I'm not feeling much. I can't wait for the 25 week mark, when I'll feel more. But I do feel movement daily, just not from all corners of my womb daily. Yet.

But I bet towards the end you feel more, right? As they get bigger and aren't so hidden behind it? Babies like to face their placentas, from what I understand, so in a while, wouldn't that make you an even better candidate to feel movement?

I felt a lot with my last baby even in active labor, who had an anterior placenta in the front left. But she was born posterior. Not so cool. Haha. At least she was a tiny five pounder - but she felt bigger crowning than any of my much larger babes. LOL Actually, it felt like birthing a square head. Hehe.... have fun with that anterior placenta.

I agree with Abouttobe5. Baby Boy moves much more when I'm NOT moving or busy! Also, with DS I didn't start feeling lots of movement until 21-24 weeks. Until then it was pretty slight.
