core spinning ques.

Is cotton string good for core spinning on spindle or would hemp yarn be better? I am spinning alpaca fleece.

I think either one will be ok to use as a leader.  You might want to consider how grabby the fiber is when you decide, as alpaca is a slippery fiber to spin.  If you are a new spinner you might want to consider practicing on some sheep wool/roving first as its easier to learn on.
