i tried this diet and it was great. But my blood type is not one of the harder ones (B) I get chicken and wheat. I just can't have tomatoes and a couple of other things that i can't think of right now. I did take the lecithin supplement with flax oil and it really gave me energy

This has been helpful for at least 2 of my friends. We are type O's. The very worst one to be! My one friend had asthma type breathing problems that cleared up, and another had life long acne that cleared up. I've never noticed much of a diff. when I've followed the program.

I have always been interested in this. I am O-. Does the Rh factor make a difference? I'm guessing O's aren't supposed to eat any of the yummy stuff since most people are O. Of course if you cut out the yummy stuff you'll lose weight. Can you post an example of food we're supposed to stay away from?

lotsof greens kdlp etc, We are the only blood type to handle meat and our blood type needs it. Startchs are a no no for us as well.
Melons adn strawberrues and blackberries are a no no

Plums and figs are HIghly good
Oh and ornges are a no no

Black cherry juice is GREAT
Aplle cabbage and orange juice are NO

Avoid
Avacodo caggage cauliflower corn eggplant mushrooms Black olives red and white potato brussel sprouts
No wheat for O either
Pumpkin seeds and walnuts are Great
Brazil cashew peanut butter peanuts are BAD

I could go on and on the book is worth reading. Take from it what you can and let the rest go is what i am doing.

See... this is what I don't like about diets like this. If ANY blood type gives up wheat/starches they are going to lose weight - whether they are O or A.

Glad it works for some. I know if I gave up wheat I would wither away to nothing

Well this isnt really a diet as much as they are saying these foods dont work well with the different aspects of your blood. Its funy the profile they give for O I fit almost to a T. I do see your point as well But I really thing Wheat and startchs are a big problem for me aso it obviously doenst act well with me. I love my greens and it says that O type tend to have a sluggish Thyroid. Years ago I cut out almost all of my startches and lost 70 pounds soon as I started eating them again i gained all the weight back. Like I said the book is interesting and worth the read specially for A type blood and disease its very interesting.

IKWYM when I cut out starches four years ago I lost a good 15 pounds and became very lean and looked great.
I was also a bitch on wheels and my then 7 year old begged me to eat some carbs
I thought it would get easier as time went on but it didn't and I had NO energy.
I should check out the foods I should eat though and maybe it could help me that way
I honestly think starches are everyone's downfall no matter what their blood type is.

Kinda off the subject...but not really:

I'm so tired of losing and then regaining weight. I'm a yo-yo!! I lost about 15-20lbs 2 months ago. I just realized that this month i have gained most of it back. GRRR I'm so sick of this!

Everyone has a set weight that their body is comfortable at. I am 5'9" and my body likes being about 145 and I have to fight for anything less than that.

Does your diet change to contribute to the weight gain?
This is one of several reasons I'm not a fan of the no/low carb diets, the weight comes off pretty easy but it comes back much easier
I know it's a cliche' but it really is a lifestyle change. To maintain weight loss you must exercise and it needs to be hard enough that you are burning fat and building muscle. The more muscle you have the more fat/energy/calories your body burns even when you're not working out.

The first rule of thermo-dynamics is more calories consumed than burned = weight gain. In order to lose and maintain you need to create a caloric deficit every day. You need to burn more than you eat. If you consume 2000 calories per day but burn 2200 per day you will start burning stored fat to make up for the energy deficiency.
