Headaches?

I have had low grade headaches (kind of in the temple area) on and off during the last week.  I am wondering if anyone else is having these.  I am trying to drink a lot of water, as dehydration is usually something that causes me to have headaches.  I read that hormones can do this and I guess lack of sleep can too.  Right now it is just slightly irritating, not really painful, so I have not really been taking any tylenol or advil.  BTW-I had no drugs during the birth except for penicillin, so it is not an epi headache.

Have you had your blood pressure checked recently? Not to freak you out, but preeclampsia can develop postpartum (I had it), and headaches are one of the signs. If your bp is normal, then it's probably nothing to worry about. But, watch out for blurry vision and epigastric pain as well if you can't check your bp.

Jesshrehor- Thanks for the heads up.  I keep a close eye on that possibility.  My BP is fine, though it did get slightly elevated at the end of my pregnancy, so I have been on watch for a rise or other PE signs.  I think PE headaches are kind of severe, though, aren't they?

I've had them too but we've been traveling too much and I know I'm a bit dehydrated with changing climates.

I didn't realize that about PE so thanks for posting about it.

Usually, yes. The headache preceding a seizure tends to be particularly severe from what I understand. Elevated blood pressure can also cause headaches that are more annoying and not especially bad, though. Like I said, I ended up with postpartum preeclampsia and I didn't even know that was possible. So, I'm paranoid about postpartum headaches now. :-) Especially since most people don't know they can still get preeclampsia after the birth.

I had mild headaches off and on during weeks 3-5 pp.  I figured it was dehydration, even though I'm trying to drink a lot of water, the heat combined with nursing I think means I need A LOT more than I used to.

I, too, think mine are caused by dehydration.  Or tiredness or not eating properly.  I don't like to think they are hormonal because I can't change that.

I have a killer headache and have since he was born.

I've tried- massage, the chiropractor, sinus medicine, the neti pot (does help a bit), taking naps, acupressure (which does help), trying to let the daily stress melt away, magensium, stopped my placenta pills a week ago, cut out dairy, even tried exedrine migraine and it didn't do anything.  I don't know what else to do!  I had a drug free delivery so no worries about that.  The chiropractor said she thought that it was a combo of lack of sleep, sinus, but mostly from pushing out a 9 lb baby in such a short time.  Doctors think it's sinus but won't give me antibiotics until I try over the counter drugs.

I have an appointment for cranio sacral work and am going to try biofeedback.

Any one find any solutions?
